Multiple utility connections on side of house

I placed a bid on an older, small house with modern vinyl siding. One side of the house has every utility connection known to man and actually covers 3/4 of it.

It’s really green and needs washing but worried about shorting something out. Thoughts?

there are some topics on here about house washing and house fires. read up on some .most would say it not worth it., just food for thought. take care be safe

You could always explain the risks to the customer and do that side with a brush and very light rinse comparable to a heavy rain. Of course you have to charge extra by the hour depending on how long you think it would take. Hard to say if it is an option without seeing what it looks like.

Personally, I don’t see the difference it makes having these utulity connections all on one side of the house, vs. spread out all over.

I would check the meter box to see if the weather seals are in good shape, look for any other higher voltage connections that may be of concern, and then wash as usual.

If some of the low voltage utilities like telephone look suspect in their weather-worthiness, I would bag and tape those boxes before washing.

As should be true on every job you do, have a fire extinguisher suitable for electrical fires in your truck.
