What? No duct tape, or what used to be 100 mph tape?

We made some frames for ours out of 2" angle. Works great.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. What are the parts and pieces called exactly?

Angle iron? You serious, Willis?

More than sufficient for the reels, you guys make your trailers out of angle iron :joy:

These were custom made by myself. Used 2" angle iron from my local steel supplier. I just have a cheap mig welder and chop saw. It looks pretty simple but took quite a bit of time to get everything laid out perfectly.

No, the material is more than enough. I was referring to @Jdpowerwashing asking what the parts are called lol

@Dirtyboy duct tape will work just gotta get it wet after installing

He may not have the skills to do this fab work.

I don’t. I didn’t know what 2 inch angled was

@Jdpowerwashing where are you located

You can always bolt the angle iron together instead of welding. Doesn’t take much skill to use a drill and a wrench.

Or that. That’s a bit more expensive to do but it’s definitely worth it if you ever plan on moving things around.

SE Pennsylvania. You?

Few tips for all you aspiring angle ironist’s. Always degree your cuts to be able to weld both sides. The problem with overlapping 2 flat sections like on the photo above is that it inhibits rust between the 2 mating surfaces after it’s welded no matter what weld through primer is used. Avoid gasless Mig welders, an argon/co2 is the better way to go for penetration. If you have a smaller machine it’s always advisable to preheat areas to be welded when using flux core wire. image
