Spent a chunk of afternoon about a month ago to kill a bunch of moss and lichen on her tired shingle roof. For free of course. I told her after snow falls and winter happens I’ll look up there next spring but everything should come down nicely with a little bit of time.
… apparently that wasn’t the answer she wanted so while away on the boat this week she called a guy to come “clean” her roof. Two dudes were up there literally pressure washing her shingle roof for 5 plus hours. My significant other told me that her mom asked her not to tell me about it. I just found this so comical. She’s willing to pay this company hundreds of dollars to destroy her banged up roof already, but didn’t pay me or figure that I had her best interest in mind when I went up there and did it for her. Roofing contractors are backed up about 2 years before they can do anything so told Jacquelyn to tell her to start booking preemptively now. Feeling a little salty about this, not really because of the cash side, but that she just paid other people to do the gig that I already did a good job on and they also used high pressure on her roof.
When I sold cars, my FIL bought a car from another dealership two hours away. Closer to where he lives and I can understand that but I know what you feel like. I wasn’t ever upset by it and, looking back, it’s probably best. That car has had multiple issues and hasn’t been properly maintained so at least I don’t have to listen to the complaints lol
Sounds to me like she’s just trying to make sure it all comes down before then so you don’t feel obligated to get up there again for free this spring when you could be making money for you & her daughter’s family. She’s wise. But on the other hand, I would love a free roof wash. When can you get it taken care of? I’m just a few miles from you.
