I have a friend who is wanting to have mortar tags removed from his brick. This isn’t a new construction but the job wasn’t done after the home was built. I want to help my friend out but I don’t have a clue where to begin! Any help other than run away? Lol

Saturate the wall first . Mix10 part water with 1 part muriatic acid then apply with low pressure acid sprayer to the area that you want to clean . If the mortar is thick make a stronger mix and make sure to use an acid sprayer instead of normal one . 10 min after acid application pressure wash .

We been cleaning 500 newly constructed houses every year for the past 5 years the chances of burning brick is very minimum and that happens when u apply the acid too strong and without saturating the wall on a hot day and you let the acid for too long and we have the solution even if u burn the bricks. What’s the price of the other product that you named. The one that I use is 85c per litre and use about 150 litre a day

Aquatek saturate the wall before u apply the acid that will reduce the chance of burning the brick by 80% don’t let the acid dry on the wall do small sections like 1000 bricks at a time after u finished the whole house get some bicarbonate soda 1kg with 15ltr water mix it well then apply on the bricks and you don’t have to rinse it that will kill neutralises the acid The chances of burning the brick is very low . These are the steps we use with light colour bricks . For acid burn we use the same chemical that we use for removing lime scale . The product called SLIME GO .

Pro, I see you’re from Austraila. I don’t know about there but here in the States we have a wide variety of different kinds of brick work. The older more traditional brick work was fine to clean using a weak muriatic solution - however you did have to be careful so as not to cause efflo like problems with the brick later on.
However today there are numerous kinds of brick that can NOT be cleaned with a simple muriatic solution. These designer bricks have a blush that the acid will rip right off. It takes a cleaner like Nmd-80 or vanitrol by prosoco to do the job safely and correctly. Typically these cleaners are written into the specs by the architect or brick manufacturer so as to protect the finish on the bricks. Using an unbuffered muriatic solution can toast these bricks quickly.
Eco clean, I am not sure if we have different bricks then states but we also have a wide varieties of bricks as well and we use muriatic acid for all of them and it’s very cheap to clean . I never used any other chemical for cleaning bricks but I am sure they all acid base and if you don’t use them properly they will burn the bricks just like muriatic acid .
I am not sure about the price of the other chemical that you guys use for brick cleaning but the one we use is 85c a litre .
One more thing I gotta say that our brick layers are very very messy .
