Monthly vs Single Time Pricing

Hi all,

I just got called to go bid on a Panda Express, and I assumed they would possibly want it cleaned quarterly, but it turned out they wanted it cleaned 13 times a year. Now I’ve worked for restaurants in the area, but only locally owned places, never fast food, and never anything more than a single cleaning. The Panda Express is about 7500 sq. ft plus 2500 of curbing and is actually quite clean. I bid it at $350 per cleaning. I’ve gotten away with .18 sq. ft. at nice locally owned places, but I can’t imagine they would’ve gone for that. Do you think I underbid? I guess only time will tell!

You will get it with that ridiculous bid!!!

Just exactly, how, did you come up with that price?

Yeah i dont do commercial, or much flat work, but that seems low to me.

Well for one most of the concrete looks pretty much new (it’s not I asked.). Minimal gum. Minimal dirt at all really. Secondly I called my local dealer who’s been in the business for a couple of decades and who set me up with my hot water machine (Powerwashstore guy) and he said they’d probably be looking for no more than 2-300 each cleaning.

For 7500 square feet of flat concrete and 2500 linear feet of curb?

Are you planning to just rinse it?

If not, have fun cause you certainly won’t be making any money doing it.

Well I suppose I can always just turn it down if they give it to me lol. I don’t know! I guess I figured every wash after the first would really just be a spot clean. Also, it’s more like 1000 linear feet of curbing but each “curb” is 2 ft. wide.

Do you have any pics?

What’s wrong Jim? You can’t make money at .03 per ft. LOL. Hell I wouldn’t even ‘just rinse it for that’.
