Sounds like Hastings was guilty of gross negligence at best and probably manslaughter at worst.

It gets real cold in the mountains everyone thinks its sunny California every day.

We did both the Mountain Warfare Training School and the Advanced Cold Weather Training School up at Bridgeport. It was even cold at night during the Mountain Warfare school and some of the higher peaks even had snow. I don’t remember the exact month we were there but I do remember it was during forest fire season because we almost got pulled out of training to go help do something like dig trenches or clear brush. During the Cold Weather training the snow was so deep it was up past our stomach. It was in the single digits at night so definitely got cold.
I was stationed at 29 Palms which is in the Mojave Desert. There was one day it got up to like 65 degrees which is average for January. We hit the sack at night and woke up with 3 inches of snow covering our sleeping bags. It was the first time a lot of guys had ever seen snow in person so you can imagine the snowball fight that took place. Although, it pretty much stopped as fast as it started after a Staff Sergeant took one to the face and knocked his glasses off…lol

Think decided to get the heated hoodie instead of jacket. Figure ill be able to get more use out of it and i can wear a light jacket to keep heat in if needed.

The 3.0 batteries last a long time but kinda bulky when you put it on. I just keep 3 batteries with me and one on charge in the truck

Kinda expensive for just the charger! I wish my truck came with the built in inverter…
You can find them used cheaper. But the first time you pull a dead battery that should have charged you will be mad. That car charger has saved my butt a few times. You can also run you 12v pump off of them if you get in a pinch

Just buy this and plug your normal charger into it!
Im pretty sure that battery pack thing you use for the battery in the jacket can be plugged into car charger via USB.
