Mesh screen disintegrated

I bought a soft wash system from Power Wash Store and they provided a mesh screen filter in the kit. I built a proportioner and hard plumbed all my draw tubes into their respective tanks. I put that screen into the bottom of my SH tank draw tube and the screen completely disintegrated in 2 days. If I was thinking, I would have known this would have happened, but I obviously wasn’t thinking. Does anyone know of a plastic version of these filters? Or do I even need one? Can I just run a piece of 1/2 inch PVC into the tank and call it good?

A vendor that sells a metal filter that goes in bleach is a vendor to avoid.

I would go plastic

The filter attached to a 1/2" hose. I can only find the DS 1/4" filters. Does anyone know where I can find 1/2 plastic filters?

I haven’t used a detergent filter in about 8 years.

All you doing is restricting the flow of soap.

Plastic or not, the screen corrodes within days and screws up the flow.

So I can just put a tube down there without a screen of some sort and it would be fine? If thats true then that is what I will do.

Absolutely. I’ve never ever used one.

Sounds good! Since I have always had one at the end the tube for my DS injector, I assumed I needed one for this also. I appreciate the info everyone!

I don’t use a filter on my 12v either but they do have pvc filters if you ever need to use one. This is the 1/2" but they also have 3/4", 1", and 1.25". If you order one tell Lori @Innocentbystander said hello.

I was just watching a youtube video about these last night. I like the concept but I’ll probably just go without the filter.

Well thats good.
But you need one on your pie hole every time you say gear drive.

Maybe we’ll get lucky and you’ll quiet down after a belt snaps and hits your pie hole.

You two are so cute together

I have 5 of the exact same one that Bob sells for the drop tubes on his roof system. Are fine for that, not permanent mounts. Correction, make that 4, I squashed one with my tailgate last week, lol.

That’s not meant for permanent mount, works well for drop tubes for the price. I have the slotted ones, all sold by the PWS for permanent mount. I seriously doubt the PWS store sold you that for what you’re doing with it. If so call Paul and give him the name of the salesman and I’m sure he’ll give you credit for it.

PVC Inlet Filter Assembly | Power Wash Store or Lori has them too for a little cheaper but I don’t like hers as much, they’re a little bulkier and heavier and on the tall tanks it’s more weight getting sloshed around on a 1/2" pvc pipe.

Never use that one with the screen it it. Will corrode as @KMP said and usually get a piece stuck in your injector. This is the one you want for your injector - can get most places.
