Mechanical issue

Pictures on here may help. 9 times out of 10 this is usually an unloader issue. I don’t know what unloader you have but you can back it all the way off (usually counter clockwise) and then do ~10 “turns” clockwise to get you close. Those are not full turns just grasp it and turn like you’re turning on a faucet.

Please do not think I am an expert. I’ve just done this a lot in this past where the nearest town was hours away and I was the closest thing to an expert for at least 200 miles.

That’s crazy. Possibly a bad unloader? Is your bypass looped back to the intake? Or into your tank?

I’ve had that happen before too. New unloader right out of the box and nada. This reminds me that I really need to order a backup ASAP.

If you have and old machine try swapping unloader, you may need a bushing or reducer for the 1/2 on the 8gpm, but its possible

Bypass hose loops from back of pump into the top of the unloader valve. The way it was shipped to me. I have t done anything to the bypass.

I do not have another machine. I’m new to the industry. If it’s a faulty unloader I would think warranty should cover

Back of the pump? Hmmm.

Yes. Comet pump. Hose comes out the back and loops over top to unloader valve

Yes on the warranty, but you will soon learn that it’s quicker and easier to just fix it yourself! Definitely always have a spare unloader with you.

I rekin I’d just have to see that. I have a comet pump on the way right now, but I’ve never had my hands on one. Just CAT and General.

How are u feeding machine?

I’m gonna try and post pictures for everyone to see. I appreciate the feedback. I’m learning a lot by doing this.

How about a picture. That’s just sounds strange

Have you noticed if the unloader spring moves when you let off the trigger and it binds up?

Keep in mind that if the unloader is bad, don’t be close by when it kills that engine. That A LOT of force to kill 22Hp.

After you get this figured out you’re going to want to run your bypass hose to your buffer tank. Otherwise, you’ll have to be on the gun all the time or walk back to your trailer to shut down the machine if you’re not going to be spraying for anything longer than a minute. Please post some pics so we can get a better idea.

What he said. ^^

This times 10. The amount of pressure building up inside that pump is astronomical. Consider how much psi is in a semi tire. When one of those things blow you know it. Multiply that times like 4000

When the spring was in, I noticed how the unloader vibrates when engine shut off. With the spring out it still shut off but not as aggressive and little to no vibration

So now you have the nuts on the spring loose, no pressure on the spring at all, and it still kills it?

Yes. That is correct
