Meat, mary Jane's and musings

What was life like before the internet?

I was 6 when they first got computers at my school and we played the Oregon Trail game.

Me too man! That was such a fun game (albeit a little depressing what with all the death and disease).

By the way, I love the direction this thread is taking. Letā€™s keep up the random awesome stuff!

Jim,

Is there a specific post or posts here that you are referring to? If so, please link them here. Because, when you donā€™t bring it up, itā€™s not brought up here.

If every time you post a garage expert takes it as their own experience, QUIT POSTING. You offer nothing to this forum. We donā€™t care here. Quit lying about your profile being deleted. Not one bit of advice have you shared on this forum. Just ramblings. Please stop so we can go back to talking about whether we like our fatback with mustard or hot sauce.

Donā€™t waste to much time searching. You can put 8 gallons of stupid in a 5 gallon bucket. Heā€™ll go away for a few months and then remember his password and show up again when we least expect it.

Makes me almost wish I was from the south, but we Germans have Kaiser-Afumat-1-500x253

Donā€™t even need mustard with this baby.

Itā€™s Kaiserfleish. Basically, the simple translation is Kingā€™s Flesh or Kingā€™s Meat. It was named thus because only the German Royalty could afford it.

If you have a German deli nearby, ask for it! Your life will be changed,

Man, there is no German deli, or any deli, around me but Iā€™ll look into it. We do have some stores that will sell you a half cow or pig though

Ok, so I donā€™t know what cut it comes from, but they sell it by the number of ā€œknucklesā€ ribs. So it is a rib cut, with the skin on, and the ribs run shortways not length ways.

I am not sure if it is brined, but is definitely is smoked, long and slow. Without a German Deli, I would challenge you to make it yourself. I bet you could.

I have jerky on the smoker as we speak

Then you are one step closer to eating like a German Kaiser. I would love to know if you could pull this off.

What kind?

London broil with sweet and sour marinade.

Sweet and sour ay?

Enjoyā€¦

I did $500k in beef jerky in 7 hours. Had to bring in @Jordie @BuzzLightyear and @squidskc to help. They made $25k in 12 minutes putting pellets in the smoker

Yah but are going to tell us how or keep rambling about how good your jerky is

Are you reclaiming the fat renderings?

I see what you did there fccšŸ˜‚

Its not about how good it is its about doing it in 14 days or less a year and making $$$$.

No fat in the jerky. My wife saves bacon grease but Iā€™m at the point in life where my blood pressure is high and I canā€™t eat all the good stuff I cook. My oldest is type 1 diabetic and jerky is a favorite low carb snack for him
