Has anyone ever used homeblue.com?? When I searched house washing, they were first on google. If anyone has experience with them, let me know

At first look it appears to be similar to Service Magic which looks like they changed to Home Pro. We were disappointed with our results using these type of services. They do send leads your way but they sell them to other vendors around you as well; so you often arrive at the same time as other vendors. They want to sell that lead as many times as possible it seems, so this drives the price down. We had poor roi overall.

Are you sure you weren’t looking at a paid ad? Were you seeing the results of local versus the global?

Have you visited that site often?

If you click a link enough time’s, google will adapt the results that they serve you on future searches. This is why many people think that their site is a SEO monster. Google just thinks you like visiting that site so they bump it up just for you. Google Personalized Search - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I advise people to use Start Page to verify results…and in the case of “homeblue.com”, they are not in the first 5 pages (top 50) for “house washing” which leads me to believe you seen a adwords paid ad.

Well yes of course it’s a paid as, but it was on top. Any yes it was because of me. But if it’s free (which it is if you link back to them) then I will put my company on it. Thank you for that insight though. I appreciated it

you can also click the little globe icon in the top right corner of google and it will take off the personalized results

Yeah I knew it was an Adwords ad, like I told ya Dave, 2nd grader lol. Thanks (again) for setting me straight

I read that Google is starting to penalize websites that sign up for directories that require a backlink. I’m not an expert on SEO so I just ley Anya handle all of that for me.
