Low Pressure 3 Diaphragm Pump - 30gpm 290psi

I’m new here and I havent a clue what I am getting myself into, but Im looking to build my truck Bed mount. I’ve also purchased a small carpet extractor for interior detailing, buffers and pads, and some window cleaning supplies. I’m starting out with little to no money and most of everything has been purchased used. Having to budget has taken more time than had I just purchased it all new and prebuilt and ready to use. So far I’ve found a 55 gallon tank and will be running a MiTM 3200 Commercial Pressure Washer…and that’s it!! Along with a bunch of pressure washing hosehose and fittings thats all I have, but I’m still determined to learn this trade. Anyways, I’ve noticed so many good questions and a lot of helpful answers. The reason I wanted to post this is because of a purchase I made on a Hypro Series 3 Diaphragm Pump that was purchased mainly for the Honda GX200 Motor that was mounted to it…and I was curious to know what the fancy Plastic pump was mounted to it. So, I pulled the recoil to here the compression ,even though it didnt start, I decided it sounded good enough. I gave him the 150 and placed the pump and motor in the rear cab of the truck and went directly home to try and find out what I had just purchased. I was a little disappointed that it wasnt a high pressure pump, but it maybe had softwash capabilities if setup correctly. Then I read some more and probably wasted an entire day trying to find some good info, but nothing that would tell me that this was most definitely suitable for softwashing.

I’d like to know if there is anyone who knows anything about this particular model or have used pumps with similar specs. Thanks in advance.

My guess is it’s a trash pump for moving water. Don’t think it would hold up to bleach and would probably for to much

That’s probably not something you’ll need. It may come in handy if you’re surface cleaning, have water puddling up, and need to move some water. If you want a pump for roof washing, pre and post treating concrete, etc just get a 5.5 or 7 gpm 12v pump. There’s plenty of info on here.

I wouldn’t mess with getting a carpet cleaner if you’re on a budget. I doubt you’ll make that much money there unless you mainly focus on auto detailing. You’ll make the most money washing houses so focus on that for now. You can then save up some money and you’ll have enough to buy decent equipment in not time. The best way to soft wash houses is to use that pressure washer you have. How many gpm is it? GPM is king not pressure. It’s normally the chemicals that do most of the cleaning and especially on houses. Low pressure only there.

Be sure to budget in money for insurance. That’s one of the most important items you need. Without it one mishap and you’re out of business for good. You won’t get any commercial jobs without it.

Be sure to start reading through old threads on here before buying anymore equipment so you don’t waste money. You’ll be amazed at what you’ll learn. You’re whole thought process on all of this will change and you’ll know exactly what equipment to buy and what to focus on. I’d definitely stick to houses, maybe decks, and flat work at first.

There are some soft wash systems setup with this style pump, they aren’t High pressure probably around 300psi but they move higher gpm. I was looking at some different systems awhile back and come across several setup with this style diaphragm pump.

Find the specs to that model you have and go from there since you already bought it.
Just my opinion.

Look up the exact model # and see what it’s used for

@TwoToneTony looks like a comet APS41 or the next one down. These pumps are mainly used for pesticide spraying and work great as softwash machines. Bertolini make a great one called a PA330. To my knowledge they are fitted with viton seals throughout and are very reliable units for softwashing.

Do you mind translating those weird units of measurement into American, please? We don’t speak metric.

@DisplacedTexan you mean American, Liberian and Burmese? The rest of the world is on the metrics my friend. Adapt :joy:

NO! Hell will freeze over before we give up our natural right to be stubborn!
