Looking for SH near St. Louis

Hi, im just starting my company, im actually on the IL side of the Mississippi River, so if anyone knows a place in Southern IL thats even better, but somewhere around St Louis would be great. All i can find is Leslies Pool Supply and theyre having issues with their liquid bleach supply. Im looking for reasonably priced 55 gallon drums that i can pick up in person. Thank you so much for any and all suggestions.

I found a place today thats going to email me a quote, the company is called Chemtechnology, LLC. Have you heard of them? If so are they any good?

I’ve heard of them but that’s about it. Let me know what they say.

Hey, so Univar wouldn’t work with me because I dont have a commercial address and Chemtechnology was a waste of time, they took weeks to give me a “screw off” price of $4/gallon of 10%SH with a minimum order of 4 drums and I’ve had trouble getting ahold of anyone from Brenntag. Do you get your drums delivered or do you pick them up? Is there anyway you would be willing to let me buy drums from you? The only other option thats worked for me is Leslie’s Pool Supply and thats too limited and unreliable for the long term.

I’ll PM you.

I would be interested in what price you guys are seeing in the STL area. I’m not really interested in buying multiple drums but right now I can pick up totes from Sunset Aquatech corner of Lindbergh and Gravois for $3.60/gallon for as little a 5 gallons.

That’s about what I pay.

Though the one gallon jugs have really exploded in price in the last year. I had to buy some in a pinch recently and about fell over.

Make sure and ask for the pressure washers discount of 10%. If you don’t ask they charge you full price.

I wonder if it’s worth the drive from Springfield to STL. We get gallons from Menards at 5.40 a gallon. Other option is four barrel minimum out here lol

Yeah, you’re looking in the wrong places, amigo. Call Renegade Chemicals.

Start with pool places. Ask about bulk chlorine or bleach. That’s usually what they refer to it as.

If they don’t have it, then ask if they have it in cases of 4. Most will. Ask what % it is and ask how much.

Keep a spreadsheet as you do this. That way if you’re on a job and about to run out and still have another job you’ll be able to see the closest place to swing by.

You can get it for $3.50 in Stl but a four hour round trip doesn’t seem to justify that especially if you’re doing it regularly.

Pool stores are theives out here at 10 to 12 a gallon some of them being under 12.5% even at bulk it’s cheaper other places. We just are not big enough to get even two barrels yet. One at a time would be awesome. Will look into renegade

Just call Renegade. Thank me later.

I think he’s in Illinois not Missouri.

Nah I’m in Springfield Mo I just emailed renegade. I have tried to contact more than five other chem company’s. We just started full time this year so we haven’t needed more than there minimums yet. That’s why we do the gallons at a time but hopefully we start picking up fast enough to need it. The fella who’s been out here a long time says he does a mix of Menards gallons and getting a barrel. With rebates from there you can almost get a gallon at 3.50 from Menards lol.

Don’t get me wrong, Renegade IS NOT going to be the cheapest you’ll find but their pricing is right in line with all of the other bulk suppliers I’ve used. We’re just never going to see those crazy low prices in our locale. Hell, one of my suppliers gets it straight from the manufacturer about an hour away and it’s still high.

I’ll say this:

I’d rather sell everything and stay at home than sit around emptying hundreds of gallon jugs into a tank every week. I just flat out won’t do it.

We only rocking a 20 gallon SH tank rn. 130 buffer. 4 gpm machine. 7gpm 12v softwash. It’s two of us so we really don’t mind especially since it’s the cheapest option right now.
