Looking for feed back on Pressure Pro 2500/ 5.5gpm machine

Has anyone used or know of the ES5525HG from KEC Supply? Honda Gx390 / GP 5.5 pump/ 2500 psi. Its alot of GPMs for the money, just wondering if that engine will have a hard time keep up with the pump. I don’t really need anything more than 2500 psi for my application so I figure it may be a decent residential machine.

The engine WILL have a hard time keeping up with that pump. Depending upon which formula you use to determine required HP, you’re either in need of 1.22 more HP’s or you’re in the clear by about .5HP. Either way, you’ll be pushing the limits of that engine. I wouldn’t push it over 2,300psi.

Thanks for the input. It concerns me that I cant find it on Pressure Pros site, but I am a bargain hound. Im looking more for Gpms than pressure. Whats your opinion on running a surface cleaner with this at around 2k.

I’m no expert on surface cleaners. There are many on this forum. I’m not one of them.

There’s quite a few people using that machine with no issues at all and a few of us have built machines with the same specs.

That 5.5/2500 combo will work great if you’re using it to downstream and softwash. So for that purpose it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t quite make it up to 2500psi, you don’t need the psi, you want the GPM. It will clean small driveways and patios too, but I wouldn’t want it to be my main machine for flatwork. In my opinion, that setup is made to a be a softwash machine, and a great one at that price.

I got it and used it to clean 100’s of driveways. It is awesome. 2200-2500 psi is plenty of juice for residential concrete. It is a lot better choice than any machine at 4 gpm’s. Get it, use it to make money and upgrade and use it for a backup. That’s what I did. It took 9 months to go from 5.5 to 10 gpms. FWIW I didn’t start making money until I switched from a 4 gpm/ 4.6 gpm machine to the 5.5 2500 psi. Just the added 1 gpm helps immensely with rinsing, which is usually the majority of the work.

I ran it for 9 months every single day with zero problems, with full pressure. Still starts and runs like a top when I use it. I realize the stated hp of most engines aren’t the actual hp. Like a gx390 isn’t really a 13 hp engine. I think they go by the stated hp and not the actual. hp. If they didn’t most of the pumps on machines advertised would be over taxed.

That is the answer I was hoping to hear. Thanx for the input.

Jason at KEC supplies is having a sale on that right now. Also you might want to think about an electric start with that. If I had to do it again. that’s what I would do. Its a few more bucks but worth it. That is the only problem I had with this machine, the rope broke every three weeks. But that happens with all pull start machines that get used a lot.

I just discovered a great solution to this (at least it appears to be a solution so far). Paracord! I had the pull cord on one of my snow blowers break recently, and the replacement cord they gave me at the hardware store broke within a week. I replaced that with some paracord I had, and I can see and feel the difference in strength. I was also able to add a little extra length, so now I never reach the end of the line when yanking it.

But an electric start definitely sounds like a shoulder/elbow saver, especially if you’re starting it a few times a day

Tried that too Alex. Still breaks. I learned not to yank too hard and to pull it out straight trying no to rub it on the edge of the hole. Now I use an electric start on my new machine.

No kidding. Wow. Electric start it is!

Electric start adds $700 to the price of that skid. Worth it if you ask me.

You can buy a electric start kit for $150 or so. Included starter, flywheel, stator, bolts, etc. Just need battery, but I already have batteries on board. Gonna wire it up myself and locate the switch to a remote location on the trailer for easy access and security.

Its a great unit for soft washing. Your going to be looking for GPM when washing a house. NOT Pressure.

Next time try holding the trigger on your gun in a safe direction and pull to start. You’ll be letting the water pressure off the line with a open trigger. Once you feel it kick on then let go of the trigger…

Wouldn’t be a bad idea to call the vendor and make sure it will work with your year and model.
