Hello! I’m looking to get a little stronger unit than what I currently have. I have a Honda GX 200 motor. What should i be looking for without breaking the bank. I like checking OfferUp and Craigslist. Thanks!
What is your location and available funds?
More specifics? Are you looking to make more pressure or have more flow? Are you trying to use that motor? Are you trying to use that pump?
I’m not very savvy in this area. I’m just looking for more pressure I guess.
Can I upgrade just the pump here for more pressure?
Arizona. $400-500
Generally you want more gpm not pressure. What is you clean most often?
Can you recommend a different pump that I can attach to that motor?
Sorry, i am new. Hopefully one of the vets can.
I just put an UDOR 3gpm/2k psi pump on a Honda gx160…it’s actually getting 3.6gpm…I use it for a hood vent job I have monthly. I’m not sure what pump you’re running now but there’s only so much you can do with a gx200. You’re much better off with a gx390 and you’ll have many more options…even a 5.6gpm pump.
I’m not sure what you use your PW for but in most cases you’ll want more gpm. Your buffer tank setup is a little wonky with all those 90 degree turns going into a direct drive pump. I’d scrap everything there, get a used gx390 for $200-400 and get a 4gpm pump (General or Udor makes good ones) for $300-400 and you’ll have a much better machine.
I may have a gx390 engine and general pump ts1021 for sale, ill do 600 shipped for it. No hoses our accessories, gun.
I Have a simpson with that motor(gx200) and AAA pump puts out 3600 psi and 2.5gpm, and its ok. The 2nd story nozzles work ok with it, but ì think more gpm is the big ticket.
I just went through all this mess, gcv 160, then GX200, now gx 390 and 4.0 gallon Cat pump.
If you can find a belt drive GX390 for a decent price, jump on it. Otherwise a direct drive GX390 is fine.
