Lichen on sunbrella awnings

Hey guys, looking for suggestions…I did this sunbrella fabric awning with lichen. I used the formulas on here of SH, Woolite, and water, brushed on vigorously with a soft brush, rinsed off with a garden hose…,…after several applications with a 15-20 minute soak each, it tuned out looking good (picture 2), but today I drove by and the dried version still showed white spots where the lichen were. Everyone is happy with it but I’d like to get it cleaner…suggestions?

the last after pic you have to zoom some but it’s there.Uploading…

Maybe a little bit of pressure on the rinse would do next time.

That’s what I’m figuring. The wet after never uploaded, the last is the dry after from today. I know that there can be some lightening after lichen in particular is removed but this looks like it’s still in the fibers…I’m gonna stop back and try some pressure, thanks

It did come out pretty damn good though from what it was

Thank you sir! @Racer, you have any lichen/awning advice? I know @squidskc had one that he had to go back and work on, If you copy this you can send me a message if you have any insight

The lichens dead…give it 30 days in the rain and wind and it will come off.

Looks good though

Ok I appreciate it, and the customer is happy, I’m just used to the instant “brand new” vinyl siding before and after I guess

@Patriotspwashing is right. Lichen has roots that grow into whatever it’s on. Almost impossible to get off until its been dead awhile. Long as it’s dead now, if you want, go back in a month and give a little scrub and should be good to go.

All right, thank you sir

By the way, @Patriotspwashing, I used your finger test on the SH, it immediately turned warm, and worked great, so your method was spot on without harming any taste buds
