Lanai screens

Hello everyone! I have been in business just over a year and things are going quite well in a fairly upscale area in South Carolina. I have gotten a contract for 41 homes this summer. I have one week to complete them all. They are just one story homes, with stucco exterior, which is not the difficult part at all. They all have screened lanais with varying vegetation in and outside of them. They have algae and green growth on them.

My question to the vets: how would you go about efficiently cleaning this many screen lanais in one week, maximizing results while minimizing plant damage?

I’ve found that covering flowers too long with plastic can wilt them. I also don’t want to have a huge amount of labor time involved with plastic sheeting. I am genuinely considering multiple large beach umbrellas for any sensitive plants (in addition to soaking them with water before and after). Maybe a tarp system with bungees to elevate the plastic just over the plants?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We just keep the plant life wet ……dilution is the solution to the pollution. Roofs especially need a ground person praying water…..

Are you a Vice Grip Garage fan? I heard him say this within the last week or two in one of his videos, never heard it before and it’s been stuck in my head since.

Thanks for your reply. I make sure to over water the plant life but some of these homes have lots of delicate flowers and landscaping and it’s just such a complicated balance to protect them and actually clean the structures correctly.

There’s a company somewhere here in South Carolina that sells Green Ox Renew (or something like that) that is designed for use near plant life and water. It’s a two part solution, and they sent me 4 gallons of it about two years ago to try for free, but I never ended up using it. Might be worth checking with them to see if they’ll send you a sample, and more specifically, ask them if they recommend it for what you are trying to do.

Edit:
They are based out of a town in the low country between Charleston and Georgetown. Here’s their link.
