Ladder rack

I don’t know how to draw in here stop i took a pic of my wall and used rhe paint brush thingy. Black is side of truck/trailer. Yellow is twisted bar to make rack for ladder to hang in. Red is pin with clevis to keep ladder from coming out if vechicle rolled over 87 times due to swerving to avoid road being swallowed by earthquake

Cool. In that case you’d need to bend the bar into a U and not an L, so that you have a way to attach it to the trailer

Mine was on a truck so it was an L. You can make most anything you can buy. Not always practical and you have to be comfortable with your skill level/ Sometimes it’s easier and cheaper to buy. I wouldn’t weld the side mirrors on the space shuttle but I’m confident I can make a ladder rack lol

Or if @squidskc decided to take your trailer for a spin, lol.

A 28" is a bitch. Have you looked into a telescoping?

I use a small toy trailer for other jobs 4days a week and roof cleaning for 3. The constant moving of stuff on/off the trailer is a pain, so I use telescoping ladder whenever possible. Also have a Little Giant, but its a pita as well.

Telescopic ladders will get you killed and are heavy. Put a 16, 28, and 40 on your truck and you’re set.

Not to mention an osha approved 14’ telescopic ladder costs the same as a tried and true 32’ aluminum. More ladder. Less moving parts. I’ll make room for the traditional ladder.

I’ve never used one. 90% of the homes here are ranches and I never have to get on a roof.

Ok, but this thread is about ladders so there will probably be more talk about ladders. If you don’t want to discuss ladders, then this may not be the thread for you.

Not to mention, Those telescopic ladders are a pain in my experience.

I love ladders. But I hate buying them, transporting them, storing them and using them.
Why are the telescoping ones so bad?
And that monkey rack thing someone posted here a month or so ago blew my mind.
I have a painter that jumps on a 40 like its nothing, and scoots a few feet to the right or left like John Belushi in Animal House. He stands atop a 14’ step like an NBA mascot. He must be part Billy Goat.

The telescoping ones are bad because they can fail easily sometimes causing death! :astonished:
