K7 Vs ZK1 unloader or anything better?

Works for me desktop and mobile.

It does indeed bird nest, had the k7 and just got the zk1 today and no change, wish there was a fix for that problem

I had pretty good luck using a strong clamp on the reel flange, but the flimsy Titan lock bends just looking at it.

Maybe itā€™s my electric reels but I donā€™t lock them and I have zero bird nesting. Idk.

Using a ZK1 on my 8 and 5.5 machines. I used them both Friday with no issues only running 20ft and 50ft of hose.

Idk it just bypasses. My hoses have minimal jump when I let on and off. The 8 more than the 5.5 but thatā€™s to be expected and itā€™s still minimal. Iā€™ll share a video this week.

Iā€™ve found locking it helps, but I still have to unwind an extra 50 ft of hose when Iā€™m done

I donā€™t lock either hose reel and I never have to mess with them when Iā€™m done.

Youā€™re using a ZK1?

Might have more to do with the life of the reel too. If the birds nest is a new thing your reel could be going bad. Not sure what the part is called but it was posted here over the summer. Itā€™s where the drum connects and spins in the bracket that holds it. Mine are shot. They keep unwinding after I stop pulling hose off.

My brand new titan does that aswell. I donā€™t think itā€™s that, Iā€™ll make a quick vid on it today

I thought there was several different models depending on machine size and output. I will call and make sure I the right part.
Delete delete delete. Zk1 ordered. One and only kind. Please ignore me racer lol

I thought the heat came after the unloader?

See Iā€™m an idiot lol. Obviously I need to start learning more about my equipment next. Been spending too much time learning how to clean right

Yeah Iā€™ve learned the best methods to attack stains in our field (ill never fully learn as you learn everyday) but now with all the equipment ordered, itā€™s time to learn equipment maintenance

My hoses bird nest when they have been used a couple months and are more ā€œslickā€ on the outside. When new I donā€™t have the bird nesting issue. This is with k7 unloader.

Iā€™m going to call the hose company and order some of their 1 wire. I was going to get 2 wire but price, availability, and the fact that the 1 wireā€™s max psi rating is like 4500 psi and burst rating of 10,000 or something like that makes me believe Iā€™ll be okay.

Good year was my first choice but hose company sounds nice, customer support as well

It makes since that it birds nest when the hoses get slick. When new they stick to each other well preventing it

Ordered the ZK1 and 3 mosmatic swivels (my current one just started leaking). Kleen Rite Corp is so cheap I love it! Only $25 for the mosmatic swivels. I was going to order 2 but then read @Firefighter4hire tips and realized that I should get 3.

Shot a short video of the hose jump with my ZK1 5.5GPM on a GX390. No rats nest issues.

I had 0 problems with the jump today k7 before left a rats nest after every job

You switched to the ZK1?

Yeah k7 gave out and I switched over to zk1 starting today. Not sure if the k7 was kicking a lot because it was about to give out on me or if thatā€™s just how it is, but the zk1 is noticeably better when it comes to thag
