Just purchased a water fed pole

I have been doing research and finally decided to add exterior window cleaning to the house washing. From what I have heard this seems like a good and easy add on after a house wash. I am thinking of charging around $5 per window. Does anyone here have any insight on this? Also, if you do, do you offer screen cleaning as well? I will be sure to have them remove the screens before we show up if they are adding window cleaning.

Cost depends on your market, You can call some local WC companies and ask what the Exterior rate per window is… Then go from there… Practise first because WFP cleaning has a learning curve aswell.

Good idea, yea I have heard that you need to get the method down so it turns out good. Ill be experimenting on my house as well as my parents at first.

It’s a great add on. Price depends on your market and your customer. I am probably double then anyone else in my area for exterior windows. Also the majority of exterior window jobs are an upsell from someone inquiring about a house wash. They want to hire you to wash the house and they’d rather pay an extra 40-50$ to not have to call anyone else and deal with them.

I go flat rates…i don’t count windows as i hardly go in person for quotes. My number changes frequently though depending on how busy we are and how much I hate cleaning windows that week

$5 per window pane— is a good price

Only offer it as an add on, as WFP can give subpar results on a first clean. With the bleach and surfactant it helps clean the windows, frames, and the seals of the widow followed with a rinse really helps the end result of using a WFP.

Is this a deionized system or just a tapwater pole? It’s good you want to clean off the windows afterward (I’m a window cleaner) but rinsing with regular water will still leave spots.

I imagine he knows he has to use DI water lol …well I hope so

That’s why I’m asking. :ok_hand:

Yes I will only do it as an add on to house washes, the windows already come out very clean in my area with the elemonator rinse and low tds of the water. So I am looking to maximize profits and be sure there are no water spots on the window so the customers are extremely happy with the results.

Yes I am using a DI setup, not just scrubbing the windows with the tap water. I did do SOME research.

I charge $4 per window if the screens are not present with a house wash. I charge $6 per unscreened window without house wash, and I also charge $1-2 to remove and pressure spray, wipe down, and replace the screens. Of course I encourage folks to remove their screens so that I can clean that area on the window between the screen and the window when I’m housewashing. That makes the $4 upsell very easy indeed. @reyco, which pole and DI system did you go with?

Awesome thanks for the info. I got a Tucker pro-rinse DI system and a xero pro plus carbon fiber pole. The TDS is low in my area (under 100 in most places) so I think only DI will work for now. If it turns out that window cleaning becomes a very popular add on I will upgrade to a DI/RO system.

I don’t wish to insult my friends at WCR, but you should know the their Zero Pure RO/DI doesn’t produce enough volume to properly run the Tucker Over-the-Top rinsing system. While I’m not a big fan of Tucker for anything but their most excellent brushes, you may be well served to stick with them when you upgrade.

So the zero pole I got won’t work well with the zero ro/di system?

Over the top gadget they have…stick to regular pencil jets or fan (hydrophobic windows ) in your brush and you’ll be fine

It’s got nothing to do with the pole, and everything to do with the brush. The Tucker is the best there is, and worth the investment. It takes stuff off of windows that no other brush can get off. You want the combo Alpha brush, and the Over-theTop bar comes with the alpha.

Good luck!

I concur. However, it’s nice to have for the hydrophobic glass on the same brush with the pencil jets. Also, I really prefer having 4 pencil jets over 2.

ok, the brush that comes with the pole is a Tucker blue dual trim brush with 2 pencil jets. Looks like I need to do a little more studying up on the brush heads and jets

Dude, your good. WCR adds a good brush to their really good poles. Hopefully the inside bristles are boars hair, not the clearish white bristles. If not, put an Alpha Brush on your wish list.

Gotcha, thanks for the insight. I will see how the upselling goes and advance from there. Have a good New Year!
