Is collecting emails for power washing companies important?

If you’re not collecting emails for clients, you’re leaving future money on the table.

I recently started working with a power washing company that had a list of about 10,000 customers they had previously run estimates for. Out of these 10,000 customers he only had about 900 emails. I asked him " why haven’t you collected emails for everyone" and received the reply "I don’t think they’re that important.

Nevertheless, we took those 900 emails and sent out an email campaign. He booked 11 jobs with customers that already knew him. At these numbers, if he would’ve collected all their emails we would’ve expected 122 jobs!

So PLEASE do your self a favor and start collecting emails

It’s like ordering money!!!

10000% agree. Marketing to current customers is cheaper, faster, and easier than acquiring new ones. Even if they didn’t become a customer the first time you communicated with them, the second time there’s familiarity with them and it becomes a whole new ball of wax.

I hope this post gets some love. And if you’re here to market yourself, that was a classy way of doing it. Giving away free, solid advice with the intention of educating us will earn you some customers here over the long run.

Our group here is pretty suspicious of people who show up on day one trying tell sell us something without getting to know them first.

Keep the great info coming, build relationships, and stick around awhile.

I hate getting emails almost as much as answering the phone. I won’t do that to my customers.

I would agree, Having a mailbox full of mail I don’t like. receiving something every quarter to half a year is more acceptable.

I completely agree with you guys, and email marketing is not about blasting your customer with irrelevent emails. A friendly reminder every month or every other month or so does the trick. You also want to make sure the people who request an estimate aren’t getting any more sales emails for a while and you also want to make sure you give anyone who is receiving the emails an option to opt out . Providing value with emails that are relevant to homeowners in regards to cleaning helps and can strengthen and maintain a relationship. But just like there are power washing “hacks” doesn’t mean all power washers are bad. Email marketing the right way brings in good business. If you fail to use this technique your competitor who gave them an estimate but lost the job last year can get in front of them first this year. Along with home advisor, and other lead source providers.
