I have a 4 gpm and 4200 psi Coldwater unit. With the X jet m5 I am able to reach the top of three stories with 8 ft worth of lance reaching up and I’m 6ft tall. I don’t want to be on ladders. So I want to solve this issue and use my regular gun with a regular 2 ft lance or even a 6 inch lance instead of an extension and DS instead. My question is, do you think a j rod / quad rod with a 0020 or 0030 tip would reach that high on my 4 gpm 4200? I’ve had wonderful help here and I’ve been talking to other people on the forum for advice which I love y’all for. Just wondering if the community had any input on the subject ?
A 0040 will work a bit better than the m5. You can also get Guy blackmons shooter tip here:
Agreed, a shooter tip will help tremendously. On a calm day, I can just about get the top peak of a two story house using a 1’ lance, so essentially third level.
The shooter tip is the best for the jrod. Don’t get the 0020 tip. Your machine requires the 0010. It will give you a tighter stream that will go higher. Just don’t use it low on the siding. It’s too strong.
With that small of a orifice (0010) would it still draw soap?
No it won’t.
I need to be able to draw soap and reach 3 stories. That’s why I think the 20 and 30 will be good.
What size machine you have?
0010 will create way too much mist and won’t be able to reach as high. It won’t draw soap and it’s a high pressure tip.
it’s a 4.0 gpm 4200 psi
That’s why I think I’m going to go with 0020 and 0030 for my high soap tips. Then getting 1530 and 4030 on a quad rod
Or you can just get the Guy Blackmon 0040 shooter tip and a 2540 then call it a day. No need to over complicate it.
Ditto what @anon37135677 said, I have the shooter tip, 2550, 0550 on mine.

This is a great chart, look for the pressure you want to the gpm you have, should show you the tip you need. Hope it helps.
Sorry bud. I misunderstood your post. I thought you wanted high rinse. Yeah, the 0010 won’t pull soap just rinse high.
