Introduction and quick question

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to start off saying thank you all so much for the trove of knowledge this site contains. Since I found it I have been reading everything I can. I wanted to quickly introduce myself. My name is Jason and I’ve been a weekend warrior for a couple years now and have finally decided to take the full time plunge. I got approval for my business name (True Clean Pressure Washing LLC) and am currently waiting on Insurance (I know I should have had it from the start but what can I say). The reason I decided to go full time is for my 19yr old son. He is going to work with me for a couple years and the plan is to had it over to him once he is comfortable. I am located in Cape Coral Fl and plan to cover from Naples to Sarasota (as long as I can book multiple jobs a to make the drive worth it). I will be running my trailer with two 8 gpm cold machines and a everflo 12v. I have two questions if anyone doesn’t mind share some knowledge. First is on weight distro for my trailer. Here are picture of my trailer. I built a ladder rack, added two tool boxes, and plan to mount signs above the tool boxes. I currently do not have anything mounted or plumbed just working on the layout now. Do you think that this set up will be good to not to cause a death wobble. The thought of it makes me nervous. Second question is on my buffer tank. I plan on using a 275 tote (But will never travel with it full) with two feed lines into it with float valves. Do you think that with two machines I would be able to get away with a 50 gal buffer tank? that will free up room on the trailer. Thank you guys again for the time you’ve dedicated into answering questions for everyone and sharing the vast amount of knowledge that you have so far.

Nice setup. Looks like you’ve got it balanced pretty good, but you won’t know for sure until you put it to use. And NO, - 50 gal buffer not going to run two 8gpm.

That was sarcasm…I really do lol.

Well I did with my son but he’s now making it clear that this is not the career he wants. he’s almost 19 and knows more than I do. lol. He thinks it’s too stressful. I understand though, he’s at the age where he’s just trying to figure life out and doesn’t really know what he wants.

A lot of guys on here if not most will disagree with me but the best and safest thing you can do is find a tandon trailer and go with it. it won’t beat your equipment to pieces, pulls better, if you have a flat going down the road you’re more apt to survive it. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Thanks guys, i figure the 50 wouldn’t be enough and would need the 275 (math made sense but didn’t like the answer it gave). If Christian (my son) hates it then ill just keep the business since I enjoy it anyway. Might even work together longer than he’d like even if he does. I wanted the tandem trailer but budget wouldn’t allow. We figured next trailer build we’d upgrade. Thanks for the fed back guys

Aluminum trailer, with a 3500 lb axle ? @JPunyahotra

If your not up for a dbl axle, look into something like

this to eliminate tail whip.

I know a lot of guys use the totes but I hate them. I would get a round tank, helps with the sloshing. I would move the tote just a tad closer to the front, maybe have the center of the tank 3-4inches in front on the axel. Depending on what you’re pulling it with, you shouldn’t have any sway. If you need a sway control bar you need a bigger vehicle or a more well balanced trailer

I just switched from a tote to a leg tank when I started building this new trailer. I can tell a huge difference. my tote always felt like it was pushing the truck the leg tank I don’t even feel it back there. I don’t think I will ever go back to a tote tank

He’s already got two 8’s and fuel tank up at the tongue. Moving that tote forward is only gonna add to it. And V the truck n trailer @BTBPropertyService

Good move

It actually seems to pull better full

Yeah it’s a tough call, from experience I just like everything a little slightly ahead of axle. But I’m not there in person, if i doesn’t ride full he should be good. Just hope he never has to tote water to a job or he is in trouble. We all have that one job we have to tote water for and if that weight is a little too far back it may be a dangerous ride. Let’s just hope he isn’t pulling this with a sedan

Im curious what that trailer weighs. It’s gotta be lite as a feather ,being all aluminum. And if it’s a 3500 lb axle. But he’s not answering. Lol

I would guess 500-600lbs for just the trailer with no equipment or tanks. Hopefully the axle isn’t less than 3500#

Sorry for the delayed reply been a crazy week with graduations and kids birthday parties. The trailer is only 650lbs and it has 3500 axles. I ended up pushing the tote a little closer to the front and did a few test runs around before bolting down and there wasn’t any sway. Thanks for the help. Now I’m just looking for a good sh distributor in the area. I’ve only been able to find 10% for 1.80 a gallon. I know there are cheaper place around the sell 12% but until I can find them I guess it’ll do.
