I am now through about 20 local agents. None of which are willing to provide coverage for roof washing. Can anyone provide a referral to their agent that is covering them to either walk a roof or apply chemical from a ladder?
J. Waters no longer covers roof washing from the roof or a ladder. Hiscox wanted 10k. Local agents are all declining roof work. If my site even has a stock photo of roof cleaning the under writer will decline. Ive been ready to sign a policy for a week with no luck.
Erie has it included in mine, and my premium is around $1200/year. 2million gc, 1million per occurrence, includes voluntary property damage.
Also covers $15k tools

I’ll PM you. The letter doesn’t say anything about roofs, but the rep sent me an email that the underwriter gave me the thumbs up on roofs

I called. They are an Eerie agent. I am actually waiting for a quote from them.
Everyone says call Erie but for some reason they wouldn’t cover roofs where I’m at in wi. Agent said “underwriter said our take is if you have to clean it something is seriously wrong with the roof”

They don’t cover roofs either unless it is from the ground.
Are you saying J.W. doesn’t cover roofs unless from the ground, or Erie doesn’t? Erie gave me absolutely no wording to suggest that it was ground-only; only that roof cleaning was included in my policy. I’ll give them a shout tomorrow to make sure I can walk them in the rare cases I’ll need to
JW doesnt cover roofs anymore unless it is done from the ground.
Hmm, I’d better ask my agent about this roof issue. I have to spray moss on occasion with a pump up.
I’m seriously having so much trouble trying to find coverage for this.
Be sure to let them know you don’t pressure wash the roof. My agent said I wasn’t covered until I explained no pressure is used. They were then able to include it in the coverage.
