Installing Udor gear drive on gx390

Just got my GP TSS1021 and matching gear box from Russ at Southside yesterday so hopefully all goes well with the install. I’ll try to get it on this weekend if I can find time. I don’t know about y’all but it’s been crazy this year.

I hope this isnt too old to bump, but I have a note/question on this issue.

I just ordered a Udor MC 18/20GR pump/gearbox and plan on putting it on a Kohler CH440, because it has a little more power than the GX390, getting closer to the actual 14HP that pump specifies.

In ordering the engine, i see that there are at least 2 different versions of 1" crank in that engine:

*1" x 3.49" straight
*1" x 4" tapered

It appears that the 3.49" long shaft is the needed one for this Udor pump, and i imagine the 4" tapered version wont fit properly.

Once all arrives, i guess i will see if i run into the above issue. I trust thst Udor will be able to help if I run into an issue, but assuming I need to use spacers, what am i looking for beyond simple washers? It seems like a bad idea to leave a gap where any debris can fall down in there and start frictioning things up!

Thanks for any advice that can be given!

Edit:
The plot thickens, slightly. My numbers were a bit off. I checked the datasheet and the 4.14" rapered shaft is actually 3/4" diameter.

There are two 1" versions though. Threaded and straight shaft. As far as I can see, the threaded versions (that is end tapped) is what is needed.

Another thing is that the threaded shaft doesnt appear to have a keyway, which for sure means that I need thst 3.45" long straight shaft with key. Look, answered my own question!

I hope that i can add just a little value to this place as Im just beginng my journey and this forum has already been a huge help.
