Infinity’s Honda iGX-700, Udor gear drive build

Awesome, thanks.

And you were right about the gear oil. I forgot to pull some out with the syringe, and it was bubbling out what it didn’t want

Initial observations:

I’ma need to get larger supply hose, and plumb some camlocks into my setup for dual feeding the tank and bypassing the reel. I drained my buffer tank so fast testing it out (didn’t have it hooked up to a water supply, was just using up the ~45 gallons that I had in it.)

Open flow, it filled a 5’er nearly to the brim in 30 seconds.

This is gonna be a beast for soft-washing.

I think I’ll be waiting until I have a few hours on the motor before I put it under full load with high pressure tips and set the unloader. Just seems like a gentler break-in method. Thoughts?

Oh, and the k1 feels silky smooth when going into bypass. I’m used to the K5 that still kicks a bit, even with the right sized orifice installed.

Oil sensor keeps triggering on this igx700. I thought I had overfilled it: dipstick looked like it was above the line. Let a little oil out of the valve 10oz, maybe? Got the oil down just below the upper notch in the dipstick. Still shutting down.

Thoughts?

Don’t baby it. Its not a predator

Was able to drill-start it today with a 30mm socket. Seems to be running well. Waiting to hear back from the shop on the fate of the starter motor. New one will be around $260… gulp.

Regarding geardrive oil: it’s now dipped below the center dot on the sightglass, but it’s still bubbling out more lube from the vent cap. Thoughts @Innocentbystander, @Dago52, or anyone else?

My experience is it will bubble out what it doesn’t want. After a few hours of run time and all the air bubbles are gone you can always add a little more. This of all my pumps look like an oil spill. Adds character to them.

@Infinity Been building a gear drive with a 26.5 EFI Kohler. Going to put a 690 Honda belt drive beside it and see if I like the gear drive.

Scariest part of the build so far…

Yes, that’s my truck’s fuel tank. We’ll see how this goes

Y’all can call me crazy, but you can’t call me a wimp!

Are you connecting your pwer to your truck fuel tank?!

Yessir. It’s back together. Truck started without any codes. Honda fired up no problem. I’m letting it run for a bit and make sure there’s no issues.

I have a shutoff valve between the tank and machine, that I’ll close before running the truck. Just in case the evap system sees the fuel pump on the Honda as a leak.

Hahaha, I never get tired of that commercial

You needed a better moniker than “new member”, btw. Let me know if you have any requests. I made you ‘Majestic Mike’, for now

That’s how it’s done on the mounted carpet cleaning machines… They feed off the tank, thru the fuel hat… you’re good

What would you like, Genaro?

I had the same issue with the gear oil coming out of the vent cap. Put exactly 10 ounces per Udor and that worked. The sight glass must be off a little bit. Mine barely shows on the sight glass.

Heard back from them today. I completely fried the starter. Yeah, I’m pretty ticked at myself. Expensive lesson in not getting sloppy/hasty with wiring.

Shared this the the meme thread on WCR:
