I know you were dying to see it…
Lol, green trash bags… love it.
Spring clips good idea
Worse case scenario and you have a head on crash or roll the truck is that going to move around and crush you or tools smash ya noggin?
Head on crash, I think I’ll make it. All the heavy stuff is down low behind the vertical supports.
(I do have some more bracing I plan on adding, to join the vertical supports to the shelving below. I’m waiting on that until the design is final; just trying to not drive like an idiot until then. Each shelf is currently fastened to its support with 3” construction screws and glue, and the backs are held to the backboard with the same screws.)
A rollover situation, where it becomes a giant washing machine… well, I’ll be doing a lot of praying. But I’ll still be in a better position than I was pre-shelving.
Finally, relocated the fuel filler. Realized that I’m gonna get really tired of the slow filling now that I can’t let it run down to empty (fueling my new machine straight from the truck tank).
Where was it b4?
Just ziptied to the underside of the bed.
Lol I could see myself doing that temporarily… and then a year goes by lol
Try two. And a half. Lol.
FWIW, it was a really beefy zip tie
Sometimes simpler is better. Especially if you’re forgetful like me.
This morning, I accidentally emptied my pure water tank while washing some window screens. Water I had brought with me already filtered for cleaning the windows. Grrr
Nice! I get 35-40 ppm TDS from my tap at home. So it’s pretty hard to justify upgrading to an RO system just so I can filter water from wells that are 300+ ppm.
Wow…ours is 160-180
Keep my lil system onboard its just easier. My problem is forgetting about it on the job and overfilling my tank lol. Loving the box truck tho Sooo much space!!
Every year I say I’m going to install a float valve on my pure water tank. But I think I’m afraid that if I just leave it to fill up in the evening, I might forget to disconnect the hose and drive off with it still attached in the morning.
It has precedent, with me. Years ago I drove off with an extension cord still attached. It was plugged into an outlet in our living room. According to Brittany, the cats went absolutely berserk.
And last year, I drove off with a hose attached. Thankfully it disconnected itself from the spigot. But I was dragging 50’ of hose behind me for a little while before someone got my attention.
On reflection, I can be a real ditz…
People like you is why we have to have break away hoses on gas pumps
Hahaha, thankfully I’ve never done that
Hey @garry.cooper Garry, what powers that RO/DI setup? A 12v pump? I have a similar setup but it uses a 120v pump. I’m thinking of switching to a 12v but wasn’t sure it 12v had the power to push water through a membrane that size.
Hey @Steve we use aodd, it’s been rock solid
I got so many questions about that !!
Did you see this @Firefighter4hire
