I'm looking to build a chem pump over the weekend

Hey guys. I have plans to put a proportioner in my truck for sh and soap application. That’s been on the back burner for a while now but I have a job coming up next week where I will need to lay down a lot of sh onto a big ■■■ roof. The only thing I have right now that can deliver that kind of volume is my xjet but that would dilute it too much.
Do you guys know of a down and dirty pump that I can build in the meantime to deliver lots of sh and soap?

I have a Delavan 7870-101Y-SB which is a 7 gpm and 100 psi. I also have a North Star 5.5 gpm and 60 psi. Either one should work fine. You’ll also need a deep cycle battery (I have 2 hooked in parallel), a mix tank, hose with drop stick to pull mix, and chem hose. I have 250’ of Flexilla 1/2" air hose. Some people use Kuri-tek hose. Whatever hose you use you have to make sure it can hold up to SH. If you’re going to build one you might as well install it all in a box. Many of us use under body truck boxes. You can get one on Amazon for about $100. You can also search “12v” on here and find a lot of threads about them.

Thanks man. Yeah, that’s the ultimate goal. I don’t know if I have resources to build a system like that over the weekend

Do you have a Harbor Freight or Northern Tool near you? If so you have everything you need to make one in a day. Deep Cycle Marine battery needed as well. Should be at an auto store/Walmart.

The pump is small on this and I’d consider it a last resort but Soft Wash System

5.5GPM pump several guys use

Fat boy Kit from PressureTek understand its won’t arrive in time unless you can pick it up. But it’s a visual of parts too.

No northern tool but I do have a harbor freight

Hmm not actually seeing a 12V pump at Harbor Frieght. Not sure where you’re located but I’d check hardware stores etc. Someone nearby has one. 5.5GPM or 7GPM.

When you’re ready to not batch mix here’s a DIY proportioner (Exact Parts List as the ones selling for $400) - #21 by TexasPressureWashing

You can always buy one pre-made from several places.

I have a couple local farm stores who carry the 7 gpm Delavan. Tractor Supply probably has something too. The pumps are usually in the isle with all of the TeeJet spray tips for agricultural spraying.

I live on the coast so there’s a marine supply store that sells 12v. I’ll check with them. Thanks bro, you’ve been a huge help

I found a pump at the marine store, but the highest gpm they had was 4. that’s better than my 2.1 gpm so it’ll have to do. I also got an AGM battery.

Test it out and let us know the distance. I know most guys won’t go lower than 5.5GPM /60 PSI like @marinegrunt mentioned.

Here’s what I was able to find on short notice. Gonna try and test it tomorrow for my job on Tuesday. Anything look like it ain’t right?
