Igx 800 wiring (rectifier/regulator)

Tried to do as much research as I can on this before posting but this isn’t exactly my specialty. Picked up a used igx800 off of a buddy. Trying to get it built up but running into a problem with the wiring for the regulator/rectifier. I see there is a motor model that is just a plug and play harness (see picture below) but my motor doesn’t have the same plug and play setup and I can’t seem to find the wiring harness/rectifier that matches). Ahh information would be helpful.

I just can’t seem to find a wiring harness that matches the plug and play ones I’m finding online for the rectifier.

This is the model I see and most rectifiers I see have this style plug and play?

It looks like you may have gotten one of the first iterations of the iGX800 engine… which at the time I believe Honda was still using parts and pieces from the GX690 line. There is also a 17 and 26 amp rectifier so that could be the difference in harnesses as well. Double check the engine code on the one you have, but I would guess you’ll need parts 14 & 15 (13 & 16 being the newer version) on this diagram. Unless you really feel like paying for a new sub-harness/cables/and rectifier $$$.

Really appreciate the response. I had a feeling it had something to do with model and from looking at the website I see what you’re saying. Any real downfall to the 17amp system or is it worth spending the money to go bigger?

If you’re only recharging the starting battery, the 17amp setup is fine. If you plan to run additional accessories (hot box/12V system), an upgrade might make sense since it should charge the battery faster. To know if it’s worth it though, I’d compare what I paid for the engine plus all the parts to make it work against the price of a new one with the 26-amp setup.
