I could use some advice!

I have a possible house wash next week that has a wrap around porch with a metal burgundy colored awning/roof over it. The house is vinyl above that. All the HW mix will be running down and over that awning. I will DS 12.5 to clean the vinyl. Do I need to pre wet the metal awning first before soaping the vinyl above and rinse well? Its a new awning and doesn’t need cleaned but the mix has no place to go except run down the awning. I read a thread a while back that certain colors can be affected on wood siding with SH but didn’t know if the same applied to metal. It is in a shaded area if I do it in the morning and temperatures I believe are going to be around 60 or so next week. Thanks in advance for any advice and tips!

Are you saying the wrap around porch is covered with burgundy metal roofing? If so it shouldn’t have any effect on it BUT it’s always best to do a test spot when in doubt

  1. Test spot
  2. Keep it wet while soap is on everything else.

Yes… It has metal roofing that’s a dark red/burgundy color. I was just afraid it might discolor from the SH. I will try the small test spot. Thanks!!!

Make test a stronger mix than normally use.

If it’s new then the home owner should know the brand. Call the manufacturer and ask for tech support. They are the best to answer your question.
