I bought a buffer & trailer!

225 tank will be plenty of force to feed your machine…keeep the plumbing basic . Mostly straight and you’ll be fine

So you plan on carrying water to the location?
Thats a lot of weight

If you’re hauling water be careful of the weight. Most single axle trailers have a 3500 lb axle. That 3500 lbs is equipment on the trailer plus the weight of the trailer. You can get a bigger axle if needed or just get a dual axle if you’ll be hauling water most of the time. If you have a single axle you’re going to be really close to being maxed out in weight. Trailer brakes are a good idea too. They’re cheap. Just something to think about.

It’s not that much weight. It’s like towing a small boat.

You have a heavy small boat. That water will weigh almost a ton, plus your equipment

All I’m towing is the water at like 3/4 capacity, a machine, a hose reel and a 15 gallon tank for wash mix. A simple setup.

And like marine said I think my axle weight is actually that. About 3500 lbs… I’m gonna put the tank mostly over the axle but I’m gonna put it just a touch forward of it so that I can put some of that weight on the tongue and on my drives of the truck. Not much but just enough to put a little on the truck.

My buddy and I use to carry a small boat down a hill to a pond. If that was a 225 gallon water tank we wouldn’t have been able to get it off the trailer.

You’ll be close to a ton for water, trailer probably weighs maybe 800 lbs? (not sure of the size). Another 100 lbs for pressure washer, sh, surfactant, surface cleaner, ladder, etc. It adds up quick. You’re going to end up being pretty close to max weight for a single axle. If you plan on hauling water to jobs long term I would definitely get a dual axle.

It’s not just the weight it’s the movement also. I’ve found that single are not the most stable

It’s a 5.5x10 from tractor supply. I’m not completely new to hauling trailers guys. I drive a rig for a living lol. As long as I balance out the weight between my axle and my tongue efficiently, and dont overload the axle I’ll be fine. Some stuff I can carry in my pickup bed too if need be. Theres been times where I’ve been loaded by a shipper and I can immediately tell that I’m not loaded correctly, just by how the truck pulls the trailer and how the truck handles. It’s all about gross vehicle weight rating and gross axle weight rating. Every single pound of weight doesn’t go entirely on your trailer axle unless you load your trailer like a Dumas lol… I have a half ton truck, so the axle on my dodge can releive the trailer axle of about a thousand pounds of I wanted it to, but I wouldn’t do that I’m gonna put like 5 to 700 pounds of that on my tongue and the rest on the trailer axle… I’ll get good pull, braking and maneuverability with the truck, all while keeping the trailer axle under its gvwr.

I also haul water at the main gig when im not washing. Yeah she holds ten thousand gallons. Lol.

I’m not being a smart a** but I used to work at tractor supply and most of their single axle trailers had 2000 lb axles. I’m just saying it might not be a bad idea to double check. Better safe than sorry.

No I hear you man. I dont mind, your input is more than welcome my friend.

Why do people make dumb ass statements? My direct drive 4gpm works awesome on a buffer tank. Keep getting told otherwise by people I need a belt driven for it to work. Well maybe one day. If it ain’t broke why fix it ?!?!?!

Watch the language please. It is also important to note that while it does work it is not ideal. None of us here make money telling someone to buy a gear or belt driven machine. It is simply based off our experiences. I burnt up 2 machines in 3 years running direct drive off a buffer tank. It is a simple statement that if you can afford to go that route you should.

My comments are typically directed to what I assume are professional contractors running professional grade equipment. If you are using 4 gpm direct drive from a tank, my comments weren’t meant for you. Keep doing what your doing
