Hydrotek or pressurePro

So we’ve deckded to go with either a 14 or 16 foot enclosed trailer for our new hot water rig. Since we’ve gotta buy a new trailer and everything for an entire new rig, and we’re not getting any loans, that limits my hot washer budget to about $6500. So here is my question:
8gpm @3500 pressurepro hot water skid OR
HYDROTEK 5.6gpm @ 3500?

They’re about the same money. so am I getting that much better of a machine in a Hydrotek to warrant losing that much gpm?

What are the BTU’s for each?

I don’t ever see that listed in any lf the specs.

I’d call them and ask before you purchased either machine. Usually the burner is the part of the unit they try go cheap on. Most everyone has the same motors and pumps. It’s the burner that mainly separate’s them. IMO

Didn’t you get a liquiforce HW unit not too long ago?

No we hadn’t putchased out hot unit yet. Still trying to decide what to buy. My wife and I just met with a local guy a couple hours ago and looked at new Karcher units. Wanna talk about expensive!

Why would you even debate a 5.6 gpm and and 8 gpm for the same price?

You already lose gpm’s with a hot water machine, so you should always go higher if possible.

3500 at 8 gpm pressure pro is the way to go.

While I love my pressure pro 8@3500 COLD water machine, I’ve read the hot water machines struggle to get hot enough. This is, and has always been, my biggest concern with buying the PP hot skid.

I have both pressure pros and hotsy’s at 8 gpm’s.

No issues on my end with heat.

I only had a hydrotek cold water in the past, which was decent.

I think you will be fine. The gpm’s makes a big difference, especially with a hot water rig.

Alright I guess I’ll stop torturing myself with this decision and finally pull the trigger on the PP 8@3500 hot skid.

We have a local Karcher dealer here as well… I stopped in their shop to check thing’s out and when the salesman showed me price’s, I almost passed out lol. Guess their equipment is gold plated or something ha.

The karcher will outlast the PP by far. Get what you pay for. Pressure Pro isn’t bad if you upgrade the muffler, pump, unloader and replace the aluminum frame.

Is there not enough back-flow through the muffler ?
Does the aluminum frame crack?
If you don’t mind, could you tell me what lead you to these conclusion’s on the PP unit?

You definitely pay for it! He wanted $9,000 for a 5.5gpm machine and that was after a 15% discount he offered us.

PP doesn’t use the standard commercial grade muffler with heat shield and bracing. Aluminum flexes and vibrates. Vibration is the worst thing for a pump, plus you can’t keep the belts tight. Ask anyone with a pp what a nightmare it is to change belts. They are what they are. Entry level machine with an inexpensive price tag. Lot of money made with them but they can’t stand up to 50 hours a week every week. If that’s not what you are doing then they may suit you well. Karcher/Landa are top notch. $9k is to much though for that machine. Must not be a lot of dealers in your area to keep prices down

Brent, where are you located?

The pressure pro is not 8gpm @3500 PSI. I have that exact machine and it puts out 3000psi @ 150 degrees. Its ok but the specs are defiantly not as claimed. Look at the specs that Hydrotek claims vs the specs that Pressure Pro claims with the same size motors.

Lower half of Indiana.

I definitely like to spend my money wisely the first time around. I’m so confused on what to do.

I can tell you I have a hydrotek and it will get hotter than I need it too. Have to wear gloves to drag the hose. 250 degrees!

@Boss

Are you satisfied with your Pressure Pro unit?
