Husky pressure washer, surgeing probablem

I have a Husky pressure washer I bought a few years ago from home depot. Model HU80709A/HU80911A. The problem I’m having is it’s surgeing or becoming under load just sitting there without pulling the trigger. It will load drop out load drop out about every couple seconds then will become under load and stay there until I pull the trigger on wand then it will complete the whole process over? I took out the unloader it looks fine. O rings good, plunger free. Plunger moves in really easy hardly any restanice but it comes back out assuming this is normal. If I back off the unloader it will run normal but I have hardly any pressure if I tighten down the unloader I get the pressure back but the problem comes back also. Just sits there trigger not pulled loads drops out loads drops out. When this is happening I can also see the unloader moving.
Wondering if anyone has any ideas?
Thanks.

Does your gun drip or leak? Sounds like a leak somewhere.

There is a small leak whare hose attaches to wand. Its like a healthy dribble wouldn’t think it would be enough to cause problems. I’ll try again with no leaks and see what happens. It also works just fine with wand off. Good steady stream say about 40ft.

Any leaks?

Is that one of the machines with “idle down technology”? I bought one of these in a pinch. Are you using premium gasoline?

So I replaced O rings on pressure washer hose and one in the wand that was leaking. All leaks stopped and probablem is gone. Couldn’t believe it. Wouldn’t think the little bit of water would cause a problem. It runs fine every couple minutes it has a small hiccup but I can live with that. Since I messed with the setting of the unloader probably should figure out how to reset it and that might clear up that small hiccup. Was using ethanol gas till one day wouldn’t start, took the carb apart and scraped out all these crystals. I only use non ethanol for all my small engines. And no idle down feature on this one.

I did notice something that I had a question about. As its sitting there running after about a minute there this valve that’s in line with the inlet hose it opens up and sprays water. Seems like every minute it does this. Water was pretty warm since the engine was running. Is this some type of thermal relief valve? So water doesn’t get boiling hot inside pump. Only thing I can think of. Was curious if any one knew what that might be?

I dont know your machine but it sounds like a pressure relief valve and I doubt your machine has a bypass so you should NOT let it run for more than a few seconds without pulling the trigger and cooling down the engine with fresh water.

This is not a professional machine, its a residential machine.
