Hudson Float on 35gal Leg Tank

I am mounting my tanks today for my soft wash system. I have 2x 35gal leg tanks. One for agua the other SH. I have a 7gpm softwash pump and was thinking that 35gal tank of h20 would be alright considering I’m in FL and most homes have solid water flow. But with the Hudson Float I worry that it will sit too low in such a small tank and it’ll only end up holding 25-30gal.
Should I use a larger tank to accommodate the Hudson valve?

Mount it through the lid, it should give ya a few inches.

I agree with Mr. Cooper. Plus, if you ever decide to do away with the float valve you can just buy a new lid instead of having to patch the hole or just leave the float valve in.

@Pau1 did you get those tanks from in town? Tractor supply?

Yep, both from Tractor Supply. Ones from Thomasville and ones from Tallahassee though because both of their inventories are low and only had 1 of each.

@Pau1 I’m over in Okaloosa County and have a 35 gallon buffer tank with a Hudson on it. Mine is plumbed through the tank and not the lid and I only get 25-30 like you said. It hasn’t been an issue for the most part, but that idea of going through the lid is awesome.

same here, but not thru lid. 5.5gpm pump. Only problem was the weak flow spigot., I shoukd have known better than to use it, but it only emptied when I was using surface cleaner on the weak spigot.

What type of filter is that attached to the device? and is this device better than

this type of valve?

It’s a banjo.

I have no idea which is better though I’ve had zero issues with heavy use for 2 seasons.
