HP5535 oil site glass blew off

So my pump has been working great part time for the last 7 years. Today I came out to my garage and oil was all over the floor. I had a job earlier today. I looked and I basically just pulled the site glass right off. I was surprised there wasn’t a way to screw something in there to block it. Plastic just wore off. The pump is working great so not wanting to buy a whole new pump if possible. There is already a site glass circle on front of pump. Wondering if I can just replace this part of the pump as it has 5 Allen bolts. Anything like this happen to you guys?

Just order a new sight glass… Or use a pipe plug and plug it, for now… no need to buy the entire back plate

Easy………

Fyi those plastic sight glasses become brittle after a while and they crack and fail…

Ditto, I just bought a handful of spares last fall. Be careful to make sure you get all the pieces out.

Thanks….yes I looked up a diagram of the hp5535 pump and got the exact part number for GP sight glass. I’m guessing I’ll just drill out the rest of the plastic?? Just have to be careful not to get plastic shards in the pump.

use a pick or flathead and just work it out counter-clockwise.

I kind of laughed at just using my finger…until I went out in the garage today and literally loosened it with my finger…came right out with no fuss…lol. Thanks
