Howdy all, looking for recommendations on a good starter unit

5.5 gpm should really be run off a tank instead of a 3/4” garden hose. If I had to rely on the pressure washer as a sole source of income, most water spigots do not supply pressure washers with 5.5 gpm. The deficit creates cavitation and the sound is one you can’t mistake. The damage is permanent. Protect your investment!

4 gpm pressure washers should be run off 3/4” ID garden hoses if not tank fed for best output. If using 5/8” ID hose, you are not getting all you can in speed.

Oh gotcha, I see what you meant, hose vs tank. Thanks for clarifying. I focused on the hose diameter, thinking you meant vs 5/8" or something.

Sure!!! Have you seen our plumbing diagrams?

Cam locks on tanks to machine, why are you saying not to use and use normal hose connections?

She might have a better reason, but i noticed a while back that at least the gator locks seem to be more restrictive than a typical hose barb. On a normal 3/4" barb, i can generally get my pinky to the second knuckle… on a 3/4" gator lock barb, i can hardly get it to the first knuckle.

One of these guys:

10-4… makes sense.

We do not recommend any temporary fittings like the camlocks whenever possible. The gasket will allow air into the manifold of the pump. Leaks are streams of air under suction. The only place you simply sometimes can’t get around it is the IBC tote. Use the 2” camlock and a 1” hb to 2” mpt for a 5.5-4 gpm pw plumbing setup or 1.5” hb to 2” mpt for higher gpm setups.

Hello, Is this setup mainly for roofs? Also would it be necessary starting out? For I am novice. Thanks!

Hi Lori
This is a good list…
I too am a window cleaner looking to add a mobile unit .
Could you give me an idea of what a list like this would cost?
Trying to figure out if we can afford to do this, this year or next.
Ballpark price would be great.
Thank you

Why never adjust the unloader?

Which set up? We offer customized kits in just about any order.

Forgive me. I’m not following the questions. Are you asking for the pw plumbing cost or the whole set-up with the unit and if so, what gpm?

Never adjust the unloader because it is set 200 psi above the operating pressure of the pump and meant to be left alone.

Loosening and cranking down on the unloader will score the ‘post’, throw off your unloader’s set pressure to an unknown and under perfection conditions, we have seen the head or unloader blow off the pump.

Guys messing with the unloader will keep the distributors happy and in business with premature repairs and unloader sales,
