How to remove oil from asphalt

Hello friends.
Customer reached out and requested oil removal from asphalt. I wouldn’t hesitate to tackle the concrete but I never done asphalt. Does anyone have any pointers on how to proceed? Customer also mentioned some concrete stains on the asphalt in front of their house that they need removed.
Does anyone have any suggestions on chemicals and procedures?
Thank you!

We got almost all of them out of an ashpalt driveway this spring (a car flipped over in their driveway, so it was bad). Used undiluted Gutter Butter, a few (maybe 5) minutes dwell time, and however much scrubbing was necessary. Turned out amazing by all reports (lost the pics in our CRM change in June).

I wouldn’t say it was recommended, but it worked, lol. YMMV

Asphalt is oil. Always make more money walking away from stuff like that.

Dragon Juice

Dragon juice for oil on asphalt? Tell me more… We don’t work with oil stains too much, but have a client that really would like us to try (like a 2 year old large oil stain on what appears to be a rough older asphalt driveway, so my hopes are extremely low)… I do believe I have a decent stock of Dragon Juice though…

Call Andy. Heck of a nice guy, knows a lot. I was looking at working with an ashpalt line painter by cleaning the lots first, but that gig never panned out. If your going to be doing it a lot that guy knows a thing or two about a thing or two.

I’d rather not… :joy:

Spray on, scrub it in, let it dwell about 10min, spray on some more. Can use surface cleaner 2500psi or less and can use heat, only up to about 130 though. The area I had was huge, so I only scrubbed in a few of the worse spots. It came out ok, but not great.

Scrubbing it in did help

did you dilute?

Y, he has a chart on his page. I don’t remember, been a few months. Mine was real bad so I went pretty strong. Think it was 50-50 with the concentrated. Used my Ryobi sprayer or you can use 12v

It got up the slippery grease, but you could still see stain pretty good. About 18 month old asphalt and they didn’t call me for 2 weeks after it happened . It was packed in pretty good since it was in a delivery drive.

I’m sure in another 10 years it’ll look better, lol.

This may just be the correct answer to the request…
