How much psi

G’day from down under once again…

Just a quick one… Was wondering what psi on my surface cleaner would be safe on these tiles…

Also would you guys rather use a wand to clean it up or surface cleaner would be the go to… There are 34 verandas that need to be cleaned… Main concern is not chipping out any of the grout…
Much appreciated!

If you’re worried about pressure, I use one of these to reduce pressure to what I need on a particular substrate. Much success!

What’s the advantage of this over just changing your tips? It only takes a minute to change them and you get to keep your full gpm flow rate

Let the soap do the work followed by a lower pressure cleaning with the surface cleaner. Put a pressure gauge between your ball valve and surface cleaner. Choke the ball valve to get your desired psi. 800-1000psi if it’s in good condition imo. Keep in mind it won’t remove the rust stains.

This keeps flow rate too. It takes the bypassed water down under the surface cleaner….so you still have cleaning units. All you do is twist knob for the pressure you want, saves a lot of time vs changing out tips. Time is money for me personally, I try to be efficient as possible. But changing tips work too….just don’t have the time to replace 4 tips ever time I want a different pressure, especially if I’m working on different substrates that day. Hope that helps answer your question.

Thanks for that guys…

800 to 1000 psi it is then…

Off to the shop for new tips then…

Kentucky I’m based in Australia… We don’t have half od the stuff you guys have for pressure washing… Lol and when stuff like those things arrive into the country we pay 5 times the price…

I’ve got the ox for the rust stains… Client is pissed off about them because it’s only been 2 years since the building has been built and used the wrong materials for the posts, resulting in the rust

Ahh… One more thing… I asked the boys here in Australia for some advice regarding the use of oxalic acid… And they reckon to be careful using ox after cleaning with sh.

Is it better to clean the rust stain first then clean with sh? Or should I do it vice versa?

Clean it first, after you rinse it, it’ll be fine for Ox.

Legend… Thanks mate

Unless I’m missing something (as usual) it looks like a job for a broom or a leaf blower. They either ran out of grout in the middle of the job or it has been scoured already. I wouldn’t go near it with a surface cleaner. And those rust stains will be back unless you eliminate the source.

Why people even need to be told this is beyond me… “can you get the rust off the side of my house? What do you mean I have a bad drain pan in my attic?”

I get it….

Thanks lads for the help…

All went well with the job…

Put 0.75% SH with my xjet. Let it dwell for around 5-6 min. Surfaced cleaned first with 800psi. Came out well.

Then had to get a 50 meter water hose as all taps were on the ground floor and the psi dropped to 400. Still managed to clean up good!!

The only thing i did notice is that some grout areas were replaced with silicone and there was an orange stain in it. That stain refused to budge with surface cleaner but with a good scrub it kinda began to come out.

As for the rust stains, we didn’t end up tackling them as they knew the source was still there and would eventually come back.

Thanks again for the advice lads. And all your other info’s

Cheers
