How do I remove the pully from my machine

300 psi drop per 100ft, give or take

So if I plan to run 250 ft of 3/8 hose with a 8 gpm 3500 machine Gx690 I can plan to get 8 gpm and 2750 psi? Just about ?

@DJPWS Wow learned a lot figuring that out and of course my math could be wrong but here you go:

I used this site which is awesome because it lets you add in 90 fittings and other connections:

Gates Calculator

A GX690 won’t give you both 8 gpm and 3500 psi. You’d need a 25 hp engine for those numbers. Expect to get a tad under 3000 psi before pressure loss. You’d be at about 2250 psi after 250’ of hose.

Gx800 is what you are after

@Clean_Blue that is why I recommend geardrives. You will never have to go through that again.

No. You can’t get 3500@8 with a 690. So your numbers will be easier been lower. Closer to 2300 at the gun

I get right around 2300 at the gun so I’d say Mr. Page is spot on. It’s plenty of pressure for nearly any task.

I was looking at gear drives at Envirospec. They have Kohler and Vanguard engines. I’m not famaliar with them. Prices looked pretty good for gear drives. I want an Udor now too.

A udor pump is a smart purchase, they don’t break they wear out.

@Clean_Blue everyone will tell you that nothing runs like a Honda. But the Vanguard is Briggs and Stratton’s “premium” engine, and Command Pros are the better of the Kohler engine line up. As long as you have a servicing dealer in your area either one should serve you well.

The Vanguard is a good motor. They have weird little things that break or act up on every single one I’ve ever laid hands on. Things like choke levers constantly walking out, some seem to go through fuel pumps faster than normal, etc. Little things but can definitely put you in a pinch if you don’t carry spares. Over all, good motors.

Never touched a Kohler.

Nothing wrong with a pressure pro unit it will do anything any other manufacturer will do. I run honda motors and CAT pumps you cant go wrong.

As long as it Has enough psi for concrete I’m happy which it sounds like it does! I think a hydro max is the way to go :+1: I will do my research

I don’t seem to have any problems with mine. Hydro Max rigs are nice. Whatever you do just get one that you can work on. Some of them are a nightmare to do any wrenching on. Just ask @SurfaceTherapy.

It’s not about if it has enough pressure when you buy it. It’s all about how much pressure it makes time you put in it doing maintenance after 2500 hours. I have never owner a hydro max. Bit you cant go wrong with a pressure pro. I will put mine up against any machine out there

Honestly I’ll probably go with Pressure pro but I like research! So I will do some homework, maybe @Racer could chime in!

You have a lot more configurations to choose from with a Hydro Max including a Kubota 1105 engine. They also have other higher hp engines that can actually put out what the pump is suppose to put out. The stainless steel frame is a nice option. I believe Rick has owned or still owns a Pressure Pro too and has good things to say about it. He said the Hydro Max is built like a tank though. I am anxious for an update because it’s going to be my next big purchase.

Ok wait, so if I put a TSF2021 8gpm pump on my GX630, I’m only looking at about 2200psi after 200’?

Is that sufficient for nasty driveways?
