How can I get these stains out of this chrome side runner?

I don’t see any stains. Lots of scratches tho. Maybe what you are trying to point out isn’t all that visible in the picture.

Go to the auto parts store and get some chrome cleaner. It comes in a spray bottle. If the cleaner doesn’t work then use a fine piece of steel wool to try and remove the stain. You’ll likely have to do the whole thing though. Follow up with a chrome polish and buff it.

I have tried everything almost. I was thinking of trying Alumi Bright. It’s almost like the chrome is stained inside the finish.

Have you tried the steel wool? You can also try the shiny side of aluminum foil. You can add water to both to help with lubrication.

The stains look bluish like fuel or something was on it at one point and never was cleaned for a while.

Heat can cause chrome to turn blue. It I see what you are talking about now. 0000 steel wool and buffing with a hard cloth wheel and the correct polishing compound should work.

Thanks. I didn’t think to try the wheel and steel wool. I’ll give it a shot this weekend and see how it does
