House wash window issue

Standard house wash. Strong solution but didn’t remove this. Am I correct in thinking it should have came off with a basic house wash?

A few questions you’re going to get from most on here: Define strong solution (what % SH and how applied including dwell time). And what is “this.” What are you referring to in the picture? Maybe explain or circle in the picture and explain what you’re seeing.

Try a pump up sprayer with a stronger mix in it. I usually keep about 50/50 in mine and that’ll neutralize anything that can be usually.

I will keep that in mind for future posts primate. I’m referring to the remaining black strip of deposits/mold in the window sill. It was left after my house wash. I run a standard HW mix of SH and NaOh at percentages recommended by my supply house and manufacturer. Usually melts all dirt and deposits off within 3-5 mins(up to 10). dwell time was 8-10 min on this. The pump sprayer is basically what I did. I used a solution straight out of my DS bucket(6% with NaOh) to remove similar deposits on front porch but I don’t want to chance stripping paint on the window sill.

did you use a rag or brush? Sometimes a little agitation works wonders. I use a soft bi level brush like this for gutters and some edges where HW doesn’t seem to work.

Yea i agree dirtyboy. I used a rag on the front porch but it took the straight 6% to cut through it. Planning to go back hit with a HW mix and use the soft bristled extension brush. Double the overall % until it melts if needed

Good to meet you guys I’ve ready many informative posts and discussions from you all over the past year

The mold has grown into the rubber seal, I deal with this a lot on garages. It takes 2-3 hits to lighten it up, or as mentioned get a pump up/12v and 4%.

I haven’t had any luck with brushing as it’s literally grown into the material.

Got it. Thanks dcbrock. I’ve read many informative posts from you as well. I believe my system is similar to your 55 gallon buffer set up.

Im always leery of using a high % on painted surfaces with the 12v. I missed this row of 2nd level windows while measuring online. Would this be a standard HW task or should I have built in an upcharge for this?

If that’s into a piece of rubber / sealant or caulk, will be hard to make it look good.
