House Wash Mix Question

@FATJOE Yeah, the chemical supply company I reached out to said I could maybe get a discount if I order SH on a regular basis in bulk, but what they consider bulk and what I consider bulk is probably two different things! haha

@squidskc That is a very good price, but I don’t know if I could manage 55 gallon drums. I have a truck, hauling them would be no problem, but unloading them from my truck and finding a way to fill my chemical tank would be a major problem. PowerWash.com also sells 55 gallon drums, but I don’t know the price.

I’m not local, but I called the Harcros in Muscle Shoals, AL and their price was the same as it is up here in Kansas City.

Give them a call tomorrow.

I realized after I made that comment that you said you had it delivered. lol my bad! I will give them a call for sure!

Do you have access to an engine lift? Also, you can get them delivered for $50 or essentially $2.60 or so a gallon.

There’s a ton of ways to move drums. A little bit of upfront cost, but it makes life easier.

Unfortunately I do not, but I could have them delivered. I am sure this is a really stupid question, but what is an easy and affordable method for transferring SH from a 55 gallon drum to a chemical tank?

Could this work?

Yeah. But here’s one you can push a button and it’s half the price. Just flush with water after every use.

Wow, looks like the 55 gallon drum option isn’t quite as complicated as I originally thought! haha thanks so much for all the help! I will definitely give Harcros a call tomorrow.

Go to Northern tool and buy you a 5.5 gpm 12v pump for $130 and get a 50 ft hose. Can pump it out of drum on your truck to anywhere you please in 10min.

What I have found best for me being close to the Dfw metroplex and being small and starting out is contact your local water supply company. They are adding liquid chlorine by the parts per million per gallon of water. They receive 2-3 55 gallon barrels every other week at least.

Every pool supply company I have talked to will only sell it to me by the gallon and the manufacturer date is at least 30 days old so it’s not true 12.5% or sell tablets and I make my own.

@daltonaiken where you able to find anything locally.

What tablets Calcium Hypochlorite?

I am assuming so, he told me he didn’t sell any liquid chlorine just tablets. So I didn’t pursue any farther. 3 pool supply company near me and only one has liquid.

That’s when I turned to a friend who manages the local water supply.

You did well, you only need liquid, well for pressure washing at least, Calcium Hypochlorite is pita.

Use a 12v pump to load it from one tank on the ground to another tank up in the truck. Then once your back at the shop off load what you don’t need at the moment into another tank there. Sure it’s a bit of back and forth but should suffice for a while.

Did you end up finding a supplier for your SH? I’m curious since i live in Longview TX
