Hot water machine piping

Here is my question. I have a MITM 3500/6 hot water machine that will produce wet steam. I also have a 8gpm cold water machine. Can I pipe the 8 gpm into the coil and burner bypassing the 6 gpm pump for faster surface cleaning? Any idea what temperature I will be able to achieve? The burner is 550k btu output.

No, you can’t just bypass the 6 gpm pump and go right to the coil and burner. You need water flowing so the flow sensor engages, fuel solenoid opens up, etc. Plus, the engine likely turns the blower or burner fuel pump. You might be able to completely swap the pump out with the 8 gpm pump but the burner nozzle is probably matched up to 6 gpm flow rate so the temperature will be about 25% less than it usually is.
