Been reading up on local guys methods. This guy does a HOT PRESSURE WASH. Anyone else do this? This is the first I’ve heard of it. Seems dangerous and damaging, compared to soft washing. Am I wrong?

Never use hot on an asphalt roof and it’s hot enough on a roof anyway.
We have some more roof jobs here coming up and it’s cold out so we’ll mix our roof mixture with warm water and also use warm water on applying it only because the weather is cold. Besides that I would never recommend to use anything but the basic cold water while soft washing a roof.
I bet when he explains his technique to homeowners, they laugh in his face 75% of the time. He probably tells them that the hot water cleans up all the grease and “dumped jet fuel” that’s on their roof making those black oil/ grease stains.
The sad part is that when he explains this to homeowners they probably go along with it. I see jackasses all the time hanging on to a roof and blasting away.

MikoMcGreg just a heads up you may want to add a signature like most on here. I’m sure an admin will be along shortly but I thought I would try to save the effort
