Hornet nest residue

I can typically knock down a nest but there is always that residue which seems painted onto the fascia boards they attach to.

Any tips on removing that black residue?

Use hw and let it set for about 15 minutes go back and respray with hw again that area wait. Then rinse has normal.

I knock off what I can with the regular HW mix, then I take a pump up sprayer with around 50/50 in it and hit it with that. I allow that to dwell while I work on another side of the home - usually not an issue sine the nests are typically in shade.
