I’ve been running my 5.5 GPM (Pressure Pro Skid) unit for a little over a year now, and am looking into adding an 8 GPM unit to my trailer setup.
I recently got very lucky and landed some pretty big jobs for a local university (Stadiums, Large buildings, Tennis Courts, etc.) I’ve managed to get through two jobs so far, but need to get a second unit running with a higher output to keep two guys washing continuously. I am thinking the 8 GPM would be best used for surface cleaning while the 5.5 would be used to rinse, edge, etc.
After doing some more research I want to piece together my own 8GPM using a GX690 and General TSF2021 Pump.
For those of you that have built your own setups, do you have a recommendation for a good vendor to use? I don’t want to overpay for one, but don’t mind paying a little more for an engine that isn’t back-ordered 14 weeks.
General pumps are the use and throw away pumps of the industry. Get a good pump if you are going to build something.
unless you have built a lot of skids I wouldn’t recommend trying to build your own. By a custom made unit built by someone that had an the bugs and kinks worked out of the design. Almost anything is better than a pressure pro.
I also started with a 5.5 and upgraded to an 8. I got with Russ at Southside Equipment and he sold me the proper gearbox, so my GX630 has a TSF2021 and a gear drive.
I’ll be headed down to Nags Head in a couple of weeks for vacation, so that may work out. I don’t know anywhere else in NC except the beaches, which location would be the closest to the Outer Banks?
If you want something I’d call the Raleigh store, number is the one on the link I provided. Tell them what you are wanting and they will make sure it’s at the Wilmington location when you get there
