Hello I feel you should be checking your oil a bit more often on your small engines.
Tried to order a 35 ft bucket lift at the beginning of this year things were looking good until November.
2 out of the 3 companies said 2023. (Due to Honda gx270 engine shortage) they said they could have one in electric in 2-3 months.
The third and the largest company said even later. For the gas model.
So I looked at northern tool last week they had Honda gx engines for sale. Now they’re off the site and out of stock.
Also friends are trying to buy Kohler and vanguard 18-20 hp motors for various pieces of equipment in special spec codes. and the Wait is over 9 months.
So I just thought I would relay this message
I also heard a rumor that Sunbelt put out a memo that they aren’t selling any used equipment anymore. And keeping it for spare parts.

little did i know i was prepping.
i got me 3 kohler vtwins, 3 honda gx6***, and 1 vanguard vtwin, and 2 gx390, spares, 420cc briggs plus 5 of 5+gpm pumps, 1 of 4gpm pump, and 2 8+gpm pumps just for me. oh and 3 trailers.

These shortages won’t be ending any time soon, current demand and backlog currently outpace production in most demand driven markets with all these global setbacks. I’ve never in my life seen such shortages of absolutely everything, from dealerships looking empty to locksmiths waiting 15 weeks to get digital keypads in. I don’t think many people know how bad it is around the world currently, and far from over, stock markets in a bubble waiting to pop, mass global interest rate hikes inevitable, money printers working overtime, new covid variants popping up, it’s going to be an interesting 2022 to say the least. Hard to believe we’re 2 years into this mess already.

And everyone laughed at my $300 GX390 I picked up a few months ago that now runs like a top. Well, who’s laughing now?!?!?!

I started the year off with a brand new Kohler Command 14hp & it gave me issues since the FIRST job. The parts I need have been backordered all year & it’s collecting dust in my garage with maybe 40 hours on it. I found a garage kept, barely used GX390 for $175 & I was back in business the next day. It’s still going strong! Got lucky & found another one for $100 in the same shape a couple months ago. I love these Hondas! Right now is a good time to have everything you’re going to need all year. The vendors will tell you it’s on backorder after you’ve bought it. Then they’ll email you every month to push the date back some more. Imagine what it’s going to be like this April. Crazy times.
