Hiscox not covering our work

Another good reason to take before and after photos. Sounds like you kind of got scammed by HO, if they never contacted you.

You dont need ccc.
GL ckvers all that.
CCC is when u are in possession on cluents assests.
Think of a mechanic or repair where u drop off your goods

I recently put in a claim with Hiscox (I have a GL policy) and found a similar issue. They explained it using a doctors office as an analogy - if someone trips in the waiting room, that’s covered by General Liability. If I, as the doctor, make a mistake, that would be covered by malpractice insurance. I asked what policy I would need to have for covering the work I was doing and they told me Errors and Omission also known as Professional Liability. Hiscox doesn’t provide E&O coverage so I’m shopping around now for something more affordable. I’ve gotten two quotes so far (From Next and Three) but am looking for something less expensive as I was quoted in the minimum $200+ range per month for coverage (GL + E&O). I provide Handyman services as well as Pressure Washing (Handyman for the slow season)

Interesting post I would have never thought about insurance to my insurance haha learn something new every day here I love it

This is odd because I’ve used hiscox when I owned a mowing business. I knocked glass out a window and trimmed an a/c line. Both times they covered me and paid for the repairs no questions. Maybe it was a different policy, but I believe it was GL.

That is incorrect and very bad advice

You domt need e&o either

Checknlinerty mutual.
I.pay 75 a month for bkth business

I’m with @Racer on this. Also, I would think you would have some defense that they never contacted you and let you try to remedy the issue. We all know there are issues with siding that can be remedied without replacing. Push come to shove, you could have had them paint the siding, which likely wouldn’t have been 25k. Hopefully you won’t have to personally go to court.

I think because these are not primary to your work. If you had say, killed all the grass by mowing it too short in the summertime and they were forced to resod the entire lawn…that would be similar to what we’re talking about in this case I think.

I think this is more likely. I mean, back to the OP “siding that had some white streaking on it”…could have been a lot of easily remedied things. Could have been oxidation of several varieties. I’d honestly fight it on the fact that you were never given any notice of damage, any opportunity to inspect or remedy said “damage”, nor (I presume) any professional opinion by any other party as to what the “damage” was.

Take pics, get it in (some form of) writing. We were washing a house last summer, painted wood, and the test spots were resulting in a little discoloration (SW paint I assume). My guys said, “well, I think the guy said they’re repainting the house soon anyway.” I immediately demanded they stop work until I could text the guy and ask. Once he confirmed that he understood, and was indeed repainting it anyway (went so far as to say something along the lines of "light it up and get as much of everything, including paint, off as you can)…great, proceed. Otherwise, the guy could have easily seen the opportunity to get his repainting done on our dime… people do these things.

You really need to stick with just posting pics of food you don’t have a great track record with truthfulness

U should undetstand that not everybody does what u do.
I have a proprty and casualty license for 32 states.
What u are saying is asinine and always want to impose ur ways.
CCC is not needed.
E&O either for pressure washing.
And Hiscox sucks

That is covered under gl.

Insurance covers negligence to an extent or stupidity.
In HO ins lets say u pour gasoline in a mole hile to get it out in the muddle of ur yard and your basements catches fire u are covered.
If you grill less than 10ft from ur house and yiur siding catches fire u are fired…* covered

I’m not going to discuss it with you you’re just wrong I’m just hoping that you people that don’t know you will know better than to listen to your advice

U are wrong.

U usually confuse people with ur statements. Like they are the whole truth but nothing but the whole truth…

Just cause u say so it aint so.

Ir insurance migjt be ripping u off if u paying for something u dont need.
While pw u arent in care nor custody and eitjer under ur control.

Non of that is given to u while pw.
Regardless if hiw yiu interpret the ccc.

Now cc orc is different from cc and c

Now if you say … i rather be over cautious and pay a small ectra premium just to be sure … then that woukd be plausible.

Just like saying do i need a 500k covetage for my car? No you dont by law, but if u want to pay ectra 5 a minth for that increased limit… why not.

Just like u are not required to get uninsured motorist coverage, but it doesnt cost that much to have.

I got to get to choose my lunch, get to work

Lol, you don’t know the half of it. When your bored go back and read some of his stuff. On another note, my son said I remind him off the people in the Progressive insurance commercials

Tried, but with all those typos I was getting a headache trying to read it.

And I didn’t mean to like this and don’t know how to dislike it. It is accurate but rather coarse.
