Did a driveway job for a new customer and somehow didn’t rinse the garage as good as I thought I had. At any rate she said she noticed some debris left on the doors and rinsed them off. She then noticed the spots and said that she went back with some mild dish soap but was unable to get the spots out. The garage doors are only 5 months old and I’m trying to figure out what to to. Would a small soft wash get them out without disrupting the paint? Thanks in advance
Looks like hard water stains to me. I would try some distilled water and a little dish soap before I went to chems. Lightly rub with soft microfiber. Keep the rag clean. Any dirt trapped in the rag can act as sandpaper.
As a last resort you can wet sand with heavily soaped water and a fine green scrub pad. I have used that method to get paint over spray off gutters and it works great. You use plenty of solution and rub gently. Use fine finish rubbing compound to get any scratches out. It’s a pain but it will leave a good finish behind.
If the dish soap/microfiber doesn’t work you could try a magic eraser and use lightly in an inconspicuous area to see if that works.
Looks like not enough rinse. House wash again won’t hurt it, just don’t let dry and rinse, rinse and when done…rinse again!
I had some bleach stains on paint last week. I thought I was definitely calling a painter. I hit it with Diamond Magic and a green scouring pad and the stains came out!
Looks like salt from dried bleach and soap. Resoap with mix, let it dwell for a minute or two and rinse.
