Hello All/Introduction

Hey Everyone,

I had a long post typed up, and then lost it. I don’t feel like typing up another long one, so in short I’m excited to be on here to learn and help out others once I know things.

I’m over on WCR as ChargingSnail. Shout out to @Infinity, @dcbrock, and any others that I may have missed that are here.

I’m based in Columbia, SC with my window cleaning business I started in 2016, and Im looking to add something new to it. I’m also looking forward to making more per hour doing something I hope will be physically less demanding overall than just window cleaning.

Thanks in advance everyone for the help!

Hey Snail, welcome. Pressure washing is a great addition to a window cleaning company.

@DantheWindowMan Hey Dan. I know I’ve seen you on WCR. Good to see you over here. Thanks for the welcome! Honestly, I’m thinking about hiring for some of my window cleaning so I can focus more on pressure washing once its up and going. I cleaned some large buildings (for me) with my wfp last year and when I went back to clean one of them again this year I felt like I couldn’t work as long on them. (3 tall floors, hard landscaping, nearly 800 panes) it was a bit of a wake up call that I need to transition from only window cleaning to something else while I still have the energy to do so. I didnt want to wait until my body is worn out to try to figure something out. Plus I get bored every 3-4 years so Im trying to use that to change in a positive direction.

@Infinity haha, thanks Alex! It’s good to be here. I probably should have been here last year, but at least I finally made it.

That’s exactly why I started. Getting too out of shape to work twice as hard for half the money.

Tell me about it, and Im only 30. Seriously though, there is a ton of squatting, reaching, and in the case of wfp work repetitive movements. I look like I have spent all my time in the gym after a large wfp job. It feels good to be in good shape, but I know 10 years from now I don’t want to have to raise a 5-8 lb pole 2000+ times in a day. Resi work I find easier, but still will run into the same issue eventually.

I bought a WFP this year after deciding I don’t trust myself with a 28’ ladder anymore. It goes against every fiber of my being using water and a brush but if it prevents me from falling three stories, I’ll adapt.

PW is a godsend for me. I can spend two hours by myself at a house and make $400. Can’t do that with WC.

@dcbrock I love my WFP! It is a life saver when I can use it. It is disconcerting learning when you can use it though since its not nose to glass. I’m looking forward to 400 in 2 hours without having to kill myself!

You’ll get there with this board’s help. Sure beats fighting holly bushes, yappy ankle biters, heavy furniture, “you missed a spot”, 2nd story inside palladiums, etc etc.

I just did a house with nothing but french thermals and offered a discount to use the WFP. He was thrilled, I was happy and we agreed to do that twice a year.:ok_hand:

Just don’t go discounting too much

But I hear ya. My post house wash window cleanings are heavily discounted compared with my typical window pricing. I want them to jump at the extra $75 for 15-20 minutes of work, and I believe it actually saves me some time when rinsing the house, knowing that I’ll be coming back to rinse the glass with the wfp.

@FatFIRE welcome! I’m still in the learning phases of softwashing myself but if there’s anything I can help with let me know. I’m over in Red Bank area. 843-597-3148.

I can only dream of doing external windows in 20 minutes. Everyone here has half or full length screens and double hungs.

What is this! An invasion of PWR by the window cleaners :joy:

I think a lot of PWers only wash windows unless the customer removes the screens.

Oh man, I wish they could/would do that. There’s no way they could get them back in again though.:flushed:

Problem solved for next year!

Exactly. Screens stacked in front of the garage door or on the deck for me to wash.

Thanks, I really appreciate that!

Haha, we just saw the light!:rofl:
