Heavy duty ball valve leak

I have noticed a mist coming from the black knob on my heavy duty ball valve from pressure tek. Yes the ball valve has been used a lot, but I have tightened the nut in the middle of the black knob and it gets stiff as hell which I thought would stop the leak but it gets my right leg soaked everytime now. Who has taken them apart and tried to fix the leak? Or do I just need to order a new one. It’s almost a steady stream coming from the black knob. This is my second one now because of it. Would like to refurbish them if I can!

I’m watching this one I have at least 20 laying around that started a leak

I don’t care to buy more, but I feel like it could be a simple fix if someone has done it before. I plan on getting my hands in it tomorrow and taking it all apart to see what’s going on.

Mine all leak from the ball
Inside. They have seals but no idea where to buy them

do you use the ball valve as a gun?

I use the ball valve with my surface cleaner, then I rinse the surface with it, and house wash with a gun attatched to it.

I’ve just invested in several of these (imported them from USA to Australia)

Now all I hear about is how bad they are

They aren’t that bad. I would still order them for as long as I’m in the business for. The pros outweigh the cons. But I would like to fix the ones I have laying around from the leak. Mine start leaking after a while.

They are not bad they work better and last longer than any other ones I’ve had. I have about 10 of them in service. I get about a year out of them before they leak . Endless someone tries to use it to rinse half closed. They just expensive and it would be great if the seals were replaceable

Mine’s doing the same thing. When you open it up let us know what you find. If this one goes bad, I’m not buying another one. But I might try to rebuild it.

They’re definitely a consumable though.

I’ll follow up tomorrow.

I get about 3-4 months. My handle wears down before any seals go bad. The ball doesn’t completely seat bc the handle is no longer tight around the bolt that turns. I have 4 of them I can’t bring myself to throw away. I wish I could find just the black handle to replace it.

Have you considered not using ball valves anymore?
I switched to using my 2315 as a ball valve and haven’t looked back

Problem solved

What’s your preference for rinsing flatwork ?

I have been so slammed to even tear my valve apart yet. I will get to it for sure this weekend.
